Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've been following these instructions for years, and the products recommended work well for me.

I would have never thought of using the lint roller.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just got my first convertible. I have no experience with a soft top. I have noticed that it is already getting dirty. Any special tips on how to protect, clean, and maintain a black soft top?
TIA
There are probably instructions in your operator's manual. Also, so a Rennlist search. Never rub the top with anything. It will just make a "rub" mark. When the topis wet I use a big white bath towel and "blot" the water off by laying the towel on the top. If the top is dusty I use one of those clothes lint removers. Takes time, but it's worth it.
As far as cleaning and applying protectorant I use the Porsche recommended stuff. It's a little pricey, but it works. You just have to be careful with the repellent because it will harm your paint finish.
I wash and protect it once a year, and just blot the water off when it is out in the rain.
I had the very same question just a few weeks ago. I used the Raggtopp product, both cleaner and protectant and am very satisfied. The cleaner successfully removed an oil stain. Also, after treating, the top definitely looks like the color has been restored.
I read that pretty much all the convertible cloth comes from the same factory, and that manufacturer (Haartz?) gives its seal of approval to only one treatment system...Raggtopp.
Incidently, there is a web site www.froogle.com which is a great shopping bot.

For day-to-day maintenance, I use a lint remover also - one of those sticky-tape-on-a-roller kind. Just roll it over the top - takes 10 seconds. For bird droppings, I let them dry and then brush them off with a stiff bristle brush. Anything else tends to rub them in. But don't wait too long - I've heard they can break down any protectant on the fabric.

Another recommendation, when top gets wet, wait until it dries before lowering.
Thanks for the great tips!
I would have never thought of using the lint roller. Just goes to show that sometimes the old "keep it simple stupid" works.
I have already bookmarked the carcare article.
Thanks again.
