Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I'd remove the offending wheel and check for rim/tyre damage.
Leading evidence: 'Check rim/tyre damage' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check rim/tyre damage' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Rusted discs(inside face needs checking too) and/or sticking handbrake brake shoes can produce this.

I pulled in to a lay-by to see if I could see anything - and had a good poke at the back plates, but when I set off again it was still there.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've got a very soft kind of chu chu chu sound coming from a wheel as I pull away. Think it might be coming from the rear but I'm not entirely sure. Can only hear it at low speeds when I first get in the car and move away.
It's due a service at 60k, what are they likely to find? Is this a wheel bearing? And cost?
Cheers
Impossible to diagnose at a distance, but wheel bearings tend to make a thrumming sound, and do so at speed.
I'd remove the offending wheel and check for rim/tyre damage.
Rusted discs(inside face needs checking too) and/or sticking handbrake brake shoes can produce this.
Cars that have been laid-up over the last few months/during the winter often have these issues
You beat me to it! Too tempting.
More seriously, the best way to narrow it down is to jack the car up and then rotate each wheel to see where the noise is coming from then look to see if there is anything rubbing as the wheel turns. This can include the brake disc back plate.
I had a similar sound - like metal scraping - and turned out to be nothing more than the brake plate (not sure if thats the right term) on the back of the wheel (protects the disc) which had got bent and was scraping against the disk - technician did nothing more than feel around behind the wheel and bend it back
+1. The inner disc cover can have a tendency to rub on the edge of the disc making a metallic sound usually associated with rusty bicycles! Easy to push back with a screwdriver without even taking the wheels off. I get this sometimes after any track action where temperatures have come into play.
I would suggest if it's a clicking sound it is more likely to be a bearing and if scraping then the brake back plate - both will increase/decrease as your speed increases/decreases
Same thing happened to me. I pulled in to a lay-by to see if I could see anything - and had a good poke at the back plates, but when I set off again it was still there. I decided to look at it that evening, but once I got to 55mph it just stopped and never came back. That was months ago, and it's been fine since.
The only thing that was different then was that I had washed the car and then just parked up outside for 3 days - and I recall it been difficult to move when I did use it. Proberbly binding disks and handbrake.
Lesson learnt. I now always take the car for a blast after washing it to ensure the brakes get hot and dry. I also just leave it in gear and ignore the handbrake for the rest of that day.
The only down side to this, is that any dirty water in the disks comes out when you go for a blast - and make a mess of the rims I have just washed!
