Hello everyone, the problem I have is the following... I bought a set of 20" techart formula wheels for my car along with some H&R coilovers, and now i'm having a big issue, the inside of the wheel is rubbing against the coilover...
the wheels were installed to Techart specs, along with the Techart 15mm spacers that come along with the wheels to fit the 987 models. The wheel and the tire are rubbing a lot with the coilover, to the point that the car has been undriveable for two weeks, i've been to the dealership twice and the only two solutions they've come up with are:
- take off the coilovers
- take off the wheels
has anybody had this problem before, or can anyone help me solve this problem?? is techart a sponsor? Kman? thanks!
Have you tried to adjust the height of the car? Maybe that will adjust the toe enough so you wont rub. However I think that under certain conditions it may rub again. Are you running the 15mm spacers that Techart recommends?
i'm having that problem too with pss9 bilstein coilover...
i increase the height by a little bit... and the problem is almost gone...
and yeah... my friends told me to try alighning it too... hopefully it wouldn't rub..
ok, I just bought H&R 18mm spacers and took off the Techart's 15mm, the rubbing is completely gone except when turning or hitting even the smallest podhole. It is annoying not to be able to turn hard because the wheel and tire will rub against the coilover... and about adjusting the height... hmmm, i dont think i want to go any higher... for my taste it already high.
Statix, do you think the same problem would arise with techart coilovers? because I know for sure that if I raise the car enough it would not rub, but thats why I bought coilovers, to lower it more than with springs... Thanks!
I have Techart coilovers and spacers, no rubbing or anything
I have H&R 15mm spacers on the back, make sure you get the correct H&R wheel bolts too they are 16mm longer than stock. part#1456006 $4.95 each bolt.
statix did you rub when you had the techart springs?
11x20" Techart wheels in the back + 15mm Techart spacers + 30mm Techart lowering does not rub on my car at all.
with techart spring... no problem...
with pss9.... i rub if i rum 70mph+ and there is a small hump like on the freeway...
maybe this explains why techarts eibach springs ride high in the rear?
