Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

can you look on the rears and peek at the number on the coils. you dont have to jack the car up or anything. Just wondering if possibly the box was marked wrong. mine read: Eibach Federn 02/06 and then a few coils down: Techart 087C HA. My front lowered about 25mm but the rear only dropped 7mm. thanks!

POST 2Original post

Sure thing. Mine read: Eibach 30/6; Techart 087C HA (So the same as yours) 4 coils, 2 lower coils pretty much squeezed together than a bigger gap and 2 more coils with some smaller gap in between them. The difference in height between front and rear on my car is 2.2cm (22mm) Hope this helps. Ray

POST 3Original post

then I must have defective springs. at least on the rears

POST 4Original post

It's highly unlikely your springs are defective. It is possible that they are mounted incorrectly or the rear springs are not what the markings say they are supposed to be. If you check my Gallery I have a picture of my Cayman looking down the side from front to back and you can see the drop. It's about an inch (25mm) front and back. If you only got a 7mm drop in the rear something isn't right.

POST 5Original post

This doesn’t make sense, only 7mm in the rear. It almost sounds like you have the Boxter spring. They had quite a difference between the front and the rear.

POST 7Original post

Mine is like this in the front: http://www.cleaned.be/forum/uploads/post-5-1179866744.jpg And like this in the back: http://www.planet-9.com/gallery/files/4/1/4/2/DSCN7026.jpg So I think I have the same problem as you have. I'm located in Belgium (which is next to Germany ). I bought my springs direcly from Axel at Techart, without any shops in between. I will Email Axel about this problem and show him both pictures. If he says that's a normal drop ... well then it probably is ... I used to drive a car at this height: http://www.daggie.be/gfx/cars/project/2006/22/DSCN3809.jpg so maybe I made a wrong choice going for springs-only, but I still will contact Axel at Techart about it !

POST 8Original post

I spoke to Axel about the problem. It seems that some shocks have a 9mm bushing and some have a 3mm one. because of where it is located on the spring seat it significantly raises the rear. I will be pulling the shock off and seeing which one I have.

POST 9Original post

The springs also settle a bit over s few days. I noticed mine was lower (with H&R) after a week or so. or so it looks anyway.

POST 10Original post

Could you take pictures of that? Then I can show them to the guy who installed mine.
