Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Richard, is there any chance you can check my C4 has bose....

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car has the bose sound system (or at least it has the bose speakers in the doors) but I've just check the options codes in my handbook and there is no 680 for bose, the car is a 2002 C4S,
Is this normal or a bit fishy?
Is there another way to check if the car has the full factory-fitted bose sound system fited?
Cheers
Jacko
IMO Bose is standard spec in Uk c4's so its covered inside another code i think
codes not on mine either and i have the amp speakers and rear shelf sub
Rob
I don't a subwoofer in the parcel shelf, or at least I couldn't see one. My car only has 6 speakers, dash, doors and next to the passenger seats. Is the sub only part of the post 02 MOST system?
Only the door speakers have bose written on them, all the others are plain.
Is there any other way to confirm its the bose sound system, I'd like to know since it was one of the reasons I went for this car!
If you have Bose then you should be clearly able to see the sub ports in the rear 'parcel shelf' when you lower the rear backrest on either of the two rear seats. There's one behind each backrest.
MY2002 Bose was a bit of an oddball, as it was an analog (pre-MOST) system. It still carried option code M680 though, and does have a sub.
If you PM me your email address and the VIN of your car, I could look it up in the build codes.
You're not looking for "speakers" as such, if you drop the rear seats, just the ports. There's one either side as previously mentioned, which are marked 'bose'.
My C4S has bose option, and is coded as 680 in the options group.
Mine is a 2004 model with a high soec but no BOSE. Pretty sure its not standard on them. Mine certainly doesn't have ports behind the rear seats, or BOSe branded speakers. I went to an in-car hi-fi place on Friday and he even commented that its not fitted and sowed where the amp would go!
I think its safe to assume your car doesn't have it! Sorry
check for the amp front nearside in the spare wheel well , dose the rear shelf have a step in it or is it flat from window to back of rear seats ? the sub fills that step
mines pre most i think 02 ?
Rob
Your car in MY2003, so a late 2002 build. Therefore in is a MOST car. Looks like you have the M490 Harman Sound system, and perhaps someone has stuck Bose badges on the speakers.
You didn't PM your email address, so I've attached the build codes for your car, but obfuscated the VIN.
Looks like I'm now in the market for a retro fit BOSE system, probably second hand or salvage, Is it possible to fit the system aftermarket, and do they come up for sale often? If so how much would a complete second hand system cost me?
