The car started making a blow off valve sound so I replaced the standard diverter valves with some bailey ones and the sound went but after a drive to lincoln and back at the weekend it has came back.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, I've had my 911 turbo for about 1 month now and have developed a couple of issues lately. The brake pad warning has started to come on, I've checked the pads quickly and seem to have quite alot left on them. The car started making a blow off valve sound so I replaced the standard diverter valves with some bailey ones and the sound went but after a drive to lincoln and back at the weekend it has came back. Any input into these would be greatly appreciated cheers chris

POST 2Original post

The pad wear light is probably due to a broken pad wear sensor wire. It is not difficult to check it - take each wheel off and follow the wire to the connector, flip the metal clip up and the connector is next to the ABS sensor connector. Put a continuity meter on the terminals and the one that doesn't beep is the broken one. You could make your own continuity meter with a small aa battery, bulb and leave wire ends open. If the circuit is complete the bulb will light. If the wire is broken the light will stay off. The wire is only £5 from GSF. A mate had the same problem last week and it also happened to mine sometime after I replaced the pads. Sometimes they get damaged slightly when replacing pads then fracture later.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the help shall get them off this weekend and have a check. Been reading about the DV30 bailey diverter valves I have fitted onto the car and apparently on other models of cars if they have a after market filter fitted a blow off noise is heard from the valves is this also true with the 996? as im not getting the honking noise now.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
