Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got to work this morning and found a tire very low on my 02 996 Cab. Took it to a dealer nearby and the tire was shot (continental sport contact 2) with a nail in it. Tech said rim bent out of shape and advised me that I had a small nail in the other rear tire, leaking as well. That rim he said was also out of round. Given that these Carerra wheels cost $ 550 each from Porsche, do I need to replace them? What happens if you drive on rims out of round. I detect no vibration in car or on wheel. Repairing the wheels require sending them to PA and not knowing cost until they see them, and not having car for at least one week and a half. Advice appreciated.

POST 2Original post

If you go to any Rim store that has a garage they can heat it and bend it back. They have to do this quite a lot on 22" truck rims cause the spokes bend outward every 6 or so month. It shouldn't cost more than $120 for a couple hours of their time. But as always buying new rims is always the best bet.

POST 3Original post

Hello Andy, 3 weeks ago, i bend the the 2 right front and rear wheels, over some work country roads.. I take the wheels to repair as the dealer tell me ,once the wheel is fixed and repaired, it'll be as before!. so i did, the result is perfect. So, you don't need to buy a new Carrera wheel. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

POST 4Original post

Andy, Get it repaired and you should be fine. Just my $.02

POST 5Original post

I would have it checked out by an independant shop. Sometimes dealers want to make money, can you imagine that? If the tires have tread then you can patch from the inside properly, otherwise you can plug the tire with a cheap kit.
