Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

28 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I follow K man S Desnork instruction.(thanks save me a lot of time) I spilt the grille apart. There are 2 hooks on top, 1 in the middle & 1 at the bottom. Cut the polished aluminum mesh in shape. Tie it with back wire ties. (as many as you want but not in the middle hook area) I am going to do the other side of the car too.

POST 2Original post

looks really good. one of the best i've seen so far...

POST 3Original post

Here is a closer look. Use small wire ties. Cut the extra off. I took everything out inside the intake vent. On second thought, I will put the oval back in to stop hot air being suck into the intake from the hot engine.

POST 4Original post

i just realized that this mesh looks much better than what i have seen before and it's because the mesh have the same color as the car. is that a coincidence or you painted the mesh?

POST 5Original post

This is the best "de-snorking" solution that I have seen. Very nice!

POST 6Original post

Great Job! I'm almost convinced to desnork, however I'm still skeptical

POST 8Original post

It looks very good !! How did you attach the front and rear grilles? At least the rear should get quite "warm" and my experience with normal cable ties is that they will deteriorate quickly when exposed to heat or UV rays, i.e., sunlight. They literally fall apart within months. Did you use MilSpec type ties?

POST 10Original post

I followed LLL's lead (and K's instructions) and did the same conversion.

POST 11Original post

Very nice solution! Are there any areas that are specifically prone to rattles?

POST 12Original post

I haven't driven mine since I desnorking it earlier tonight (we are getting punded by thunderstomrs and 50 MPH winds in Northern NJ on Dec. 1!). I did notice that after I removed the restrictor plate, I could wiggle the end of the air snorkel ever so slightly. I'll let you know if this is something I can hear from inside the car.

POST 13Original post

CAn you take a few photos standing back so we can see the whole car....

POST 16Original post

That looks great. Back up a few steps. We'd love to see the whole rear of the car. Personally though, I think I might have skipped the exhaust area.

POST 17Original post

I noticed that none of the pictures of the side intakes with mesh has the mesh on straight. Is there a reason for this? The rear pictures all have the mesh very nice and straight.

POST 18Original post

I wanted the mesh to face forward. At that angle, air can get through with less restriction. LLL

POST 19Original post

I particularly like that it's slanted. This way it follows the lines of the "gills".

POST 20Original post

Here is the whole rear end of my car. Without the middle mesh, you can see the pipe and muffers behind the twin tips very clearly. These are my Nav. & Radar switches.

POST 21Original post

Who installed the switches for you? Vey cool! Russ

POST 22Original post

I went with screen on this part, little easier I think

POST 23Original post

Type, I used that same stuff on mine and it has held up perfectly! Russ

POST 24Original post

Russ: Thank you, I did it myself. It is a very simple job. LLL

POST 25Original post

LLL, how did you get those screws in the rear for the screens on either sideof the exhaust?

POST 26Original post

what did you do with your radar? that's so nice ...it's better than turning it on and off everytime. can you show the whole picture of the interior ? like where you put the radar and how you connect it to the fuse ? thank you.

POST 27Original post

Very nice job. Would a white mesh look good on a black car?

POST 28Original post

Check out this new product from RaceMesh..... best i've seen period......
