This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, Apologies if I am repeating a previous thread but a Newbie who has just picked up my first 911, Silver 04 996 C4S cab. All great on the car and immaculate appart from a little issue with the PSE which is stuck in Loud mode. Not normally a problem but I am concerned about winding up the neighbours too early in the relationship!! Spoke to my OPC and they suggested it may just be a sticky valve any suggestions would be great. Been a great silent follower and impressed by the friendliness and knowledge of some of you guys.

POST 2Original post

I'm guessing the previous owner must have undone a piece of wiring as many people on this forum prefer to have it loud all the time. If you drop a PM to RichardH on this forum, he can tell you exactly what it is you have to plug back in. Btw, welcome to the forum and its a great looking car you have there. ~ Maxie :thumb:

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 4Original post

Welcome....believe me, it'll take you plenty of time to 'get your head round'....3 years later and the novelty still hasn't worn off for me! ~ Maxie

POST 5Original post

Here's what I PM'd Nic, just in case it is of use to anyone else: Some people like the PSE to be loud all the time, so often they pull out the relay, so that would be the first thing to look for. Also, you should check the vacuum valves and reservoir in the engine compartment to see that everything is connected properly. I expect it is something very simple, as it isn't a complicated system. Nor should it be too expensive to fix. (Famous last words!) I can send you the fitting instructions if you like. This shows the piping connections.
