Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Karlfranz turned me on to something I did not think about in that the rubber stops the hood sits on, that are situated on the cross bar just over the radiator area, probably need to be adjusted "up" slightly such that the hood has a small amount of upward tension and then will therefore rise a small amount and clear the latch mechanism when the hood release is used.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust "up" slightly such' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust "up" slightly such' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Yea, I took the radiator cover off and inspected the hood latch.

Suggestion
Second, you can use an allen wrench to loosen and remove the cover near the levers.

Suggestion
First, you can use the jumper in the fuse panel near the driver's side footwell.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ht all, my pull levers for hood and front trunk will not move and appear to be locked in place. Does anyone have insight for this and how to recover?
Thanks a bunch, coyote
Went to check my oil level Saturday and hood release will not release hood to be opened.
I am assuming the cable may have stretched/slipped in the release. Anyone with any experience with the release mechanism and hoe the cable adjusts?
I have not had time to mess with it do to renovations with my house. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Yes. The levers are probably stuck because your battery is dead. Unfortunately, the battery is in the trunk, which you cannot open. There are two ways to open it. First, you can use the jumper in the fuse panel near the driver's side footwell. Second, you can use an allen wrench to loosen and remove the cover near the levers. There are three that may have a plastic/rubber insert over the holes in the side of the lever cover. They are inboard of the cover and face toward the outside of the car. Loosen these three bolts and you will be able to remove the cover. Turn the cover over and attempt to open the hood. You will see the cable that leads forward and how it connects to the lever mechanism. Attempt to gently pull the lever and you will see a small metal plate that prevents you from pulling the cable. With a small screwdriver, push the plate out of the way and pull the lever. It should open. You can do the same to the decklid as well.
Good luck, David
My Vantage does the same, if you have someone lift the hood gently while you pull the lever is should open. I haven't worked out why it does this yet, my guess is lack of lubrication in the hood catch.
Yea, I took the radiator cover off and inspected the hood latch. The latch is releasing, but the hood has no upward tension to rise and when the lever is released the latch re-engages.
So this is the same situation as your Vantage. All the other cars I have owned have had either a small amount of upward tension via springs in the latches or via the gas struts that lift the hood (bonnet if you are so inclined). My 2010 XKR had gas struts for the hood and provided the upward tension via the struts.

I have not had time to adjust these as yet.
Hopefully that will solve the issue.
