Hi guys,
I just installed a Milltek cat back that at one time belonged to K-Man S so you know it's the powerful factory model.
One of the members here had it but never installed it and he was a pleasure to deal with and was able to ship it out in very short notice. Thanks again George!
So after a small tack weld was done I installed it and had a pretty easy time getting it done in about an hour (with another guy helping). The tips were a bit mangled from shipping to Kman and maybe from George to myself but from a foot away you don;t really notice and I don't care so much, to be honest.
After getting it all straight and tightened up it was time to fire it up. Now i should mention that i wanted something that was relatively quiet since I have to pass sound tests at all the tracks I'm running at this season and it would be a shame to have to remove my new exhaust if it was too loud.
I had NOTHING to be worried about. The Milltek is just barely louder than stock....maybe the same but with a deeper tone. Sounds ok but nothing like what other had made it out to be. I do seem to notice a bit of a power increase but more driving is required to really know.
The fit and finish is nice and it has a cool look. I like the double tip so much better than the stock tip.
Anyway if anyone wants to keep the stock tone and gain a bit of power this is the system to go with. I'm a bit dissapointed that it's not a bit louder but hey, I wanted a quiet one so ask and you shall receive!!
Just thought I would share.

You've got one of the best systems around!!!
So far so good. Right before I got back into my car I was driving a friends GT2 for a few minutes so getting back into my CS felt like the parking brake was on...and it had no sound (compared to a muffler bypass GT2!).
Looking forward to putting some more miles (track miles) on it.
When I do mine I want to hear a difference, I want some rummble. If it sounds anything close to stock I would not do it So I guess Milltek would not be for me.
I think we all have differnet views on what sounds good, or what we can tolerate, but I can barely hear my car idle, it just sounds all muffled up.
Does your Milltek have the rear catalysts or without the rear catalysts?
Luvin our Milltek! It's quiet, but on the track it sounds awesome. Before when the Cayman flew by, it sounded like a jet engine swoosh. Now it sounds like a quiet race car!
It has the two small pre-mufflers and then the main mufflers. It removes the second set of cats from the factory system but has a small pre muffler.
I should note that it doe snot sound bad and I have not heard it at full throttle (or even drive by) from outside the cabin so maybe it sounds great to pedestrians but inside the cabin it's very quiet. People complain that between 2000 and 3000 that it's "boomy" or resonates while I like that rpm range since it sounds like I have a performance exhaust system on!
Also, it may sound like I don't like the Milltek which is not the case I like it but would like an extra 5-7db. Then it would be perfect!!
I do feel the extra power which is great. I'll trade no sound for more power over more sound over no power any day!!
I have the headers and catbacks. I am guessing the headers add a little more sound, less restriction. For what I want it is perfect. I wanted the performance and only a little more sound. Btw mine sounds great from the outside. If you are interested in a little more performance, (possibly a little more sound), add the headers, they make a difference.
Enjoy.
