Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Test drives' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drives' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

The owner just took delivery on a 2003 C2 aerokit car that will serve as the test mule for a supercharger kit for the 3.6L engine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Okay I have debating this for a few months since I picked up my car. I love the C4S, best bang for the buck in my mind. But I wish it had a little more juice in it. So I've been researching for a while and wanted to see if anyone else here worked on their 3.6L Carrera. Either supercharger, turbochargers, etc... I mean the installing an exhaust, headers, air filter, ecu modification for $5,000-$6,000 is not too appealing to me for only 40 or so hp. So any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Word is that these engines are built to the limits and there are no easy or cheap power gains. There are a few places that have put on turbos or superchargers, but I have heard nothing about them. Personaly... I would question the ability of these new engines to handle forced induction reliably over the long term.
My $.02
Yeah from my research also I agree with you Sloth. I'm just concerned about a year or so in how the car is running and so on. One of my previous cars was a '01 S4 and I had blow off valves and I was in love with the sound (more the power, but just saying), wish I could configure it in the C4S, but dont think it can happen till you put turbos in.
Call Turbo Performance Center. The owner just took delivery on a 2003 C2 aerokit car that will serve as the test mule for a supercharger kit for the 3.6L engine. I can't promise you when it will be available because right now their focus is on competing in the Grand Am Cup but I'm sure it will work and it will last once they have it. They already have experience supercharging the 986 engine and the 3.4L 996 engine.

I have a 2002 C4S and was thinking of adding the Fabspeed headers and Fabspeed mufflers (not sure about the Fabspeed airbox)..
Also upsolute ECU reprogramming - will I get an extra 25-30 HP out of the 3.6L engine with these mods ?
The guys at Foreign Affairs Motorsports have a project car. It is a 2003 C4S with the TPC supercharger among other things. Bob or Bobby would be happy to talk to you about it. They are hosting a PCA social and tech meeting on May 17, and I can't wait to check out their project car. Champion Porsche is also going to have the new GT3 there. I hope there will be test drives! Their number is [phone removed].
I have a 2001 C4 with the exhaust, headers, cold air intake, reprogramming, springs, brake ducts, factory aero kit, etc. and am very happy.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!
Mike
slodrivingmike what kind of exhaust, headers, cold air intake, reprogramming, springs, brake ducts did you decide to go with? any pictures that you can post or email to me would be appreciated. thanks.
03-C4S,
I have GHL exhaust and headers, BMC cold air intake, H&R springs, ROW engine reprogramming (makes the torque curve linear) and the brake ducts were fabricated at Foreign Affairs Motorsports.

Mike
I've seen these guys <TTP - Turbo Technik Pietz> advertise themselves in Excellence Mag offering Turbo kits that produce 400 and 450HP for $18.5K and $25.8K, respectively. A lot of grip...
I suppose if I knew ahead of time that it would cost $20K for 400HP, I would buy a pre-owned 996TT or wait in line, albeit a long one, for a GT3 allocation.

They have 3 US distributors located in MA, VA and CA.
hey mike when you say you have the bmc cold air intake do you have that one that looks like a canister or just the replacement element? If you have the canister one, how does that work with the maf sensor with the tubing? Their picture doesn't show it and they don't return emails! Also is there much difference between say ghl, fabspeed, gemballa, or dansk headers? Or are they roughly *** the same tube diam and length and collector type etc? Did you do cats? I hear that's where a good deal of power is to be had, albeit with a sacrifice as it will be louder. Thanks.

Sounds nice Andreas but still has not been completed and what's the deal with this company?

Hi 03C4S,
I have no association with this company. I though it could help.
What about the tequipment Carrera Powerkit package which is available at Porsche dealers. I believe that this package is the same as the X51 factory option, taking the Hp to 345. Is this not a viable alternative? Two year warranty as well...
I know its nice to have something from the factory with warranty, but for modified cylinder heads, camshafts, exhaust manifolds, ECU, and aluminium-intake system at a price tag of around $14,000 is a little too much.
Those are all really good questions guys. I will go thru my receipts and send you a personal message. For the technical stuff, Bob at Foreign Affairs could answer a lot better than I can. Give him a call at [phone removed].
Regards,
Mike
