Bear in mind this is pretty marginal as a nice clean new paper filter is just as good.

This replaces the existing Y shaped tube with a smoother straight intake into the airbox bypassing the Helmhotz airbox muffler.

Fitted Designkit cold air intake kit plus designkit filter. This replaces the existing Y shaped tube with a smoother straight intake into the airbox bypassing the Helmhotz airbox muffler. Claimed to offer deeper induction noise at above 4000 rpm and 10bhp. Very easy to fit. My YouTube clip has standard system in 3rd gear accelerating above 3000rpm. The rest is with kit fitted. Sound maybe not so clear with iPhone but maybe slightly deeper intake/exhaust noise. Not sure about more power but definitely more crisper throttle. A suprising benefit is an extra 1-2 mpg. At a steady 80 mph was getting 28 mph now 30 mph. Might go for a Hayward& Scott bypass next time

It took Porsche £8,750 to add 20-25 BHP (ok that includes lubrication and cooling upgrades, but even so ... )
Not knocking it, I have the Schnell CAI + K&N filter + Helmholtz resonator chamber deletion on mine.
I agree. Some claims for horse-power increases seem scarcely believable. I had mine dynoed 3 months ago giving 317 bhp and 250 lb/ft torque, totally standard. Might give it a go again after this minor change. Do you think it made any difference for you with your CAI and free flow filter ?
The midrange response seems crisper, but that, if real, is probably down to freer breathing during the first instant of opening the throttle.
This does not mean total (maximum) bhp has increased, just fattened curve. Although, max revs should show benefits from free flow aswell (via panel filter and smoothed tube/venturi de-resonance)

I had my car SuperChipped and it charts a "17 BHP" power uplift.
However, again, this is just intra range fattening. Max power is only up something like 6-9 BHP.
So I can't see a new rubber tube being more effective than more and better timed fueling / ignition.
