One problem is talking to someone with authority, getting through the receptionis (almost as bad as my doctors secretary!!) is nigh on impossible!

Apparently this should be the other way round, I checked with Tracker yesterday and they agreed it was wrong for 2 reasons:

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Me again! Just wondering, has anyone else had a tracker fitted by Porsche? My (54 plate) was fitted at the supplying OPC (nameless unless the fix it!) and they have done it arse about face. I popped in to a Hi-Fi place for an Ipod connecter thingy and they spotted it clear as day. The box, transponder (which is meant to be in the wing) is in the front boot hidden only by the platstic liner and the aerial is in the wing shrouded in metal! Apparently this should be the other way round, I checked with Tracker yesterday and they agreed it was wrong for 2 reasons: 1. The transponder can be easily ripped out and tossed in to the nearest bin 2. The Aerial will have a very weak signal baecause its shrouded in metal. Last thing I need is for it be nicked and the insurance company void the policy because the tracker is incorrectly installed!! Anyone else had this problem? Tracker are saying it £130 to re-fit correctly, I think that as the OPC didn't install correctly in the first place it should be up to them to rectify. Am I right or being unreasonable? :dont know: Cheers Ben

POST 2Original post

If you can get this in writing from Tracker and then take it back to the OPC and challenge them then you have a case imo. If you can also get something in writing from the Hi Fi place then you are in an even stronger position. In my experience though, it may be best if you type out the letters and just ask the companies concerned to print them out on their headed paper as they may not have the time to write the letters themselves. Good luck with this. ~ Maxie

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers Maxie I will let you know what happens, spoke to the OPC yesterday. The guy I spoke to was a salesman who was very helpful but initally said no to a re-installation and then told me to email everything in (think this was just to appease me) and he wuld see what he can do but am not hopeful. One problem is talking to someone with authority, getting through the receptionis (almost as bad as my doctors secretary!!) is nigh on impossible! Tracker on the other hand have been excellent, can't fault them! lets see what happens!
