Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Did a search, but could not find this issue.....apologize if it has been discussed prior. The armrest on the driver door has developed a crack. My Cayman is a DD (34,000 miles), and is often used for long trips. Therefore, right where I rest my left elbow, the armrest has split. I will be taking it in for replacement, but just wondered if anyone else has had this particular problem. Thanks,

POST 2Original post

first I would install some security cams and find out who else is driving your car when you are not there

POST 3Original post

I can assure you that is not happening.......since I almost never let it out of my sight! Must just be some freak think....my dealer had never seen it before, and they have ordered a new part under warranty. They seemed to be as shocked as I was when I discovered it. I just need to drive faster.... then my elbow would not ever touch the armrest.

POST 5Original post

Sorry for the late reply.....very busy today. It is not leather.

Hugh, I would be very interested in finding out how you fared with your return to the dealer with the split armrest problem. I too have the same problem, but with far fewer miles: Just over 7000. My interior has an aluma-look vinyl armrest that has a similar crack which has just developed in the driver's armrest. I was wondering if the warranty covered the repair? The "slit" is very narrow and about 2 inches long. It is not very noticeable at all, but will, I am certain, widen with wear. With absolutely minimal miles on my Cayman S , it certainly surprised me! Thanks for any input! ..........Crikey!
