Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Had a track day yesterday and not only had the typical oil ingestion issue which resulted in the inconvenient flag telling me to pull off the track because something must be wrong with my car, but also at the end of the day about 125 track miles, I got my first Check Engine Light. I have the softronic software and plenum along with the capristo headers and exhaust . Is it possible that the CEL is from oil ingestion or any other ideas? I take it in next week, but thought that the softronic all but eliminated cat errors so perhaps this is oil related? Thoughts? Thanks, Steve

POST 2Original post

Hello, I would check what the fault code is first, then figure out what may be the problem. Best, Scott

POST 3Original post

I concur, use the Durametric software or a simple OBDII code reader and see what the code is first, then we may be able to help you diagnose. I suspect it might be a misfire code because one or more of your cylinders misfired when ingesting oil, in which case you can clear those and not worry about it if your car is no longer misfiring.

Thanks Scott and Ken. I had fogotten about the durametric software since I had not used it yet. I will hook it up this weekend and see what I have got. Thanks.

POST 5Original post

Re: CEL from Oil Ingestion? - UPDATED Scott and Ken and/or others: Per Scott and Ken's suggestion I hooked up the durametric software looking for fault codes. The only fault codes showed up under the following modules: Gateway - this fault seems to be related to seat memory issue (not suprising as I have GT2 seats now) Left Door - I attached the fault codes for this module as they seem to be motor or PSM related. View attachment 10204 PAS - Codes also attached as I do not know what these are View attachment 10205 POSIP - Codes attached as PSM related View attachment 10206 Vehicle Electrical System - these faults are passenger air bag related. So, can anyone help me decipher what these mean? Mainly trying to determine if the CEL is related to one of these fault codes. Thanks.

Re: CEL from Oil Ingestion? - UPDATED Do you also have an after market oil based air filter?

POST 7Original post

Re: CEL from Oil Ingestion? - UPDATED No, stock air filter.

POST 8Original post

Re: CEL from Oil Ingestion? - UPDATED If you switched to the GT2 seats, did you have the dealership program them via the PIWIS? Otherwise I could see where this would end up causing some of the errors you have listed. I'm assuming that clearing the errors for airbags, etc. didn't make the light go away or did you try that yet?
