I recently purchased an '06 Boxster S from a local Porsche Dealership (less than a week ago). It is sitting outside of my office with the key ensnared in the ignition (Yes...I read the FAQ). The car has been driven every day since purchase. The remote unlocked the door as normal. All cabin lights, exterior lights, horn and stereo function as normal. I don't THINK the battery isa dead...any ideas?

Might want to read through this thread, it was started two days ago:

Your battery is probably not totally dead, but dead enough to not turn the motor over... get it jumped and take it back to the dealer and have them get you a new battery. If you've been driving it, then the battery probably has a dead cell, or you have an alternator problem - either way, if you just bought the car, they
should
fix you up.

Time to find out if your dealer has good service. The car is still in warranty.
You could have a dead battery, a shorted cell, or several. You could have a problem with the alternator, and have a dead battery anyway.
They should check the battery to see if it can hold a charge. I can't acording to what you just said, (driven the car everyday). They should also check the electrical charging system to make sure it did not kill the battery.
How many miles does the car have? Porsche does not warrant a battery if the car is not driven more than 6,000 milea a year. Your dealer warrants your whole car because you just bought it.
I would ask them to run a printout of the overrev history. If it has been overreved that will give you some argument if something goes wrong with the car. You should have asked for it before you purchased the car, and avoided cars with overrevs in the category 4, and 5 and maybe even 3.
Interesting result...broken ignition switch
Dealer will have the car repaired by tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait to get back in the car!
