Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A previous owner of my 996 added some decal covers for the OEM dials calibrated in KMH and in red. They are bubbling, so I suspect the adhesive won't be strong and damage the surface of the original dials. I'm hoping to finally remove them as I fettle odds and sods that are bugging me! Does anyone have any experience of removing the instrument binnacle to access the face of the dials? Any advice welcome!

POST 2Original post

The pdf download contained in this thread shows how to remove the binnacle. Beyond that ......... :dont know: See tbrown's post => http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=70501&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=dial+removal

POST 3Original post

I was doing that at the weekend for a little project I'm working on. I needed to get at the electronics on the back. There were a couple of screws, two clips, then unclip the connectors at the back to remove the back. Once you realise that the connectors latch in to the back it is pretty straightforward. For what you want you will just need to remove the cover on the front which is easier. I am sure there are a few online guides on changing the dial faces. MC
