What I’d like to know is -can this be repaired by a smart repair guy,or will the whole panel have to be sprayed?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • PistonHeads: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My immaculate cayman S got vandalised (with several other cars in the street) last night-snapped the rear wiper off,and gouged the paintwork down to bare Mattel on the boot lid. s. None of our bloody cameras picked this up ffs. Heard a Big Bang last night at 1 am,jumped out of bed ,couldn’t see anything, didn’t even notice when I left for work. Wife phones later to tell me what’s happened. I’m lucky the prick must have legged it before attacking my Cooper S aswell. What I’d like to know is -can this be repaired by a smart repair guy,or will the whole panel have to be sprayed?

POST 3Original post

If you've got a local independent bodyshop, they are likely to be not much more than a smart repair.

POST 4Original post

I'd try a touch up and wet sand by a detailer first. Before respraying the whole panel. Sorry that happened. I hate vandalism with a passion.
