With a Turbo vehicle, you apply the applicable smog equipment and then adjust the TURBO's/ECU to compensate for the loss in output the smog equipment causes.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Maybe I am mistaken but wasn't it listed a few months or weks ago on the Porsche US site?

POST 2Original post

I have been checking the site for the last few months and it has never been there. My guess is once the car is available in the States (i.e. August or so), Porsche will put the car on it's web site. In the meantime I gotta figure out a way to get the money for one of those beauties in yellow. ______________________ 2003 Electron Blue Z06

POST 3Original post

Z0650TH, Glad to see you here. YOU'LL THIS PLACE!!! My suggestion is to go ahead an order one it won't get here for at least another 6 months or so. By then you should've figured out how to pay for it.

POST 4Original post

Porsche UK site has lots of info on the GT3 but the lame US site has not had any so far. The car has been available for orders since February, so there is no excuse for PCNA. They seem to only want to feature the Cayenne and the Carrera GT, ignoring the GT3. I guess they'll sell them all anyway, so it doesn't matter. Karl

POST 5Original post

Thanks MJSpeed, I'm working on a way to come up with the money. My dealer wants a $5k deposit to order one (at MSRP). Based on the limited availability of this car, I can understand why. I just need to make sure I can take the car when it comes in before placing the order. In the meantime my Z06 will just have to do

POST 6Original post

This may be a longshot but maybe having the GT3 absent from the website is a deliberate move. It adds some "mystique" to the GT3 and makes it an item that you need to be "in the know". This would also have the added benefit of not attracting rapper, poser, etc. types who only want the car because it's hard to get. I would bet those types are the ones who pay the ridiculous asking prices over list and end up hurting the genuine enthusiast who wants the car for it's inherent driving qualities. Ferrari is a master at creating that "mystique" One other thing...last year at the New York Auto Show unless I completely missed something Ferrari was "interestingly" absent from the show. Can you imagine probaby the biggest Ferrari market in the U.S. and no Ferrari display?!?!

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No I think it is not on the NA website, b/c the car we are going to get is not quite like the European one. This way they can never say that they mislead anyone, b/c it is not listed on the website. I've already seen the weird bumpers on the car at the NY auto show which is obviously different from the European car. What worries me more is how the car sounds. Obviosuly on the movies in the GB website the car sounds awesome. How will the NA car sound? Further how will the car perform. I hope not different from the UK website. The reason the older GT3 did not come to NA was not b/c of bumper height (the GT2 came to NA with low bumper heights)but b/c of the emissions. It is difficult to get the same or more power from NA vehicles once they have been developed initially for the European market. It is much easier to due this in a Turbo car. With a Turbo vehicle, you apply the applicable smog equipment and then adjust the TURBO's/ECU to compensate for the loss in output the smog equipment causes. And I hope this is not the case for the North american GT3 and the fact that it is not on the NA website quite frankly scares me.

POST 8Original post

RR, info is actually on the US web site. Go to the press release archive page for Dec 2002. Here is the direct link: www3.us.porsche.com/english/usa/news/pressreleases/pag/021216.htm PCNA has also faxed dealers multiple times with consistent info and specs. I doubt things will differ significantly. If they do, you can always not buy the car, so there is no risk. Frankly, I'd be happy with a detuned car over no car at all, like it was for the first release. ROW parts can always be retrofit if necessary.

POST 9Original post

I just got the latest Automobile magazine in the mail and PCNA is running an actual ad in it for the GT3. Whadda know? Despite the press release, there is no information on the US site when you look at the standard 911 model choices and it does not appear in the car configurator. Clearly Porsche UK with about 50 GT3's to sell is investing and being agressive with their web site while PCNA with 750 GT3's to sell is not. I can't explain why, just stating the facts. Karl

POST 10Original post

rr, they don't put orders in they have no plans to fill.
