I have always used Autotrader and CarGurus with success and have sold about 10 vehicles on them.

Regardless, call the bank and make sure there are funds behind the check and the check can't be cancelled without the physical check delivered back to the originating bank.

Cashiers check drawn from a national/large bank or credit union works also but when I go that route I have the buyer send an image of the check and then I confirm with the bank prior to pickup.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If you want to take the time to take good photos, etc., If recommend Bring a Trailer. I have had success on Craigslist.

Tell you what, maybe a bit paranoid but regardless of selling venue, I'd make the exchange of documents at the police station near me (especially if it was a CL sale). I'd also want conformation from my financial institution that all was copacetic before I signed over title and gave up the keys.
I bought my
2010 Boxster base
on bring a trailer. A good experience on the buyer side. I asked the seller to take it to a local Porsche independent for a PPI, which he did (I arranged it and paid for it).

Ummmmm.... you really don't have to go very far:
PORSCHE Cars FOR SALE/WANTED (Members Only)
Our Classifieds section for Caymans, Boxsters, and other Porsche models, Cars Only! (Parts etc. go into main Classifieds forum)
www.planet-9.com
Cars seem to sell there. Go figure. Other Porsche forums have similar venues for selling cars.
I bought mine on Carvana. They'll buy the car from you directly as well.
I traded in my Caddy ATS at the time, and they gave me more than dealers would, so it's worth at least taking a look. It won't be "retail" price, of course, but you could be surprised, especially in this market. You may try other similar services too... particularly since it's so easy to do (enter your VIN, tell them the condition, and you get an offer...)
Thanks everyone. I just tried the Carvana and online vendor route but I think the higher mileage was drastically affecting their offers. The Classified section on here would let me post...I assume it is because they would like me to be a paying member which is understandable.
Surprisingly Facebook seems to be generating some real interest. It is priced well and I think it might sell today.
Thanks again.
I have had very good luck with carsandbids.com they will ask you for a lot of pictures and a video, but they will make a great listing for you. It's also free to list.
I have always used Autotrader and CarGurus with success and have sold about 10 vehicles on them. For the recent sale of my CGTS and the only Porsche I have sold, I also posted it on PCA site which received the most interest consisting of the most qualified and knowledgeable buyers. The PCA site only allows registered users to contact you and they have to provide their info so much less risk of scammers. Autotrader and CarGurus sites do subject you to scammers but they are easy to spot. Regards to money, wire transfers are the way to go. Cashiers check drawn from a national/large bank or credit union works also but when I go that route I have the buyer send an image of the check and then I confirm with the bank prior to pickup.
As
schell
indicated, I recommend you get a PPI in advance and post with your add. The PPI eliminates a surprise for you and gives the buyer confidence in you and your vehicle....just my $0.02.
How about some more advice on how to handle payment for the car you are selling. I used to sign over the title but keep the car until the check cleared my bank. I don't think that works any more. Last time I had the buyer meet me at my bank with actual cash, but that was for a small amount of cash. Sales in the 50K+ range would be a bit awkward as an actual cash transaction.
Bank check from a national bank is ok. Some small banks allow the check to be cancelled/reversed. Regardless, call the bank and make sure there are funds behind the check and the check can't be cancelled without the physical check delivered back to the originating bank.
Another option would be a wire transfer directly into your account. I don't believe a wire transfer can be reversed.
The PCA, has a great classified on line site. Free to PCA members. Transactions can only be conducted with both parties being members. There is some inherent security, in dealing with fellow PCA members.

I sold my 2009 Volvo C30 on Craigs List. I also had it listed on both CarGurus and AutoTrader but didn't get as much interest. I live in CA and the guy who bought my C30 lived in Boston. He sent a T/T wire transfer to my bank and then sent a trailer to pick it up. Take lots of pictures and be sure to let everyone know what modifications you've done to your car, if any.
An advantage of wire transfers is the speed. Depending the sending & receiving bank location, I'm in Calif., with Wells Fargo, wires sent before 11:00 am are posted and the receiving bank same day. I also do not think they can be reversed.
Yeah, Bring-a-Trailer is pretty well run, high-volume marketing site. All sorts of vehicles, LOTSA Porsches. If nothin' else their Auction Results page can give you an idea about what it possible. The most successful auctions have tons of documentation by Seller, maybe hundreds (yes, HUNDREDS) of photos, a Carfax report, DME if ya got it, PPI if ya got it, Blackstone oil report if ya got it. The offer various Seller value prices to list. They will assign a rep to work with you and they have No-Reserve listings. Plenty of knowledge comes out in the auction comments, you'll maybe learn a few things. Check it out. Tell 'em TheRealBortKing sent ya.

Lots of good ideas on here! I sold two cars quickly on Craigslist and it's free. Post as many good clear pics as you can from several angles. Craigslist allowed me 24 pics🏁🇩🇪🍺🍺😎👍
Federal reserve wire transfer at your local bank. establish and account with $0 in it to receive the money. Give the buyer your routing number and account number and as soon as the wire comes in transfer the money to your other account.
If it is a local transaction, I like to meet at the buyer's bank and have the buyer's bank issue a cashier's check in the presence of the seller. That way you know the cashier's check is valid and everything is happening in a secure location.
