Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

With new Toyo's, I am running 36/40 as the stock settings of 36/44 led to instability.
Leading evidence: 'Run 36/40 as the stock settings of 36/44 led' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check would be' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I ran into some of this with my 00 Millennium Coupe 996 C4--the dealer said the alignment's in spec.

Suggestion
A quick check would be to swap the front tires side to side and see if the pull changes at all.

Suggestion
Going to have new alignment and set some neg camber for my daily drive (PCH and other twisty roads).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Any C4, C4S, Cayenne owners: I have an 01 C4 and it pulls slightly to the right. Had the alignment checked and it was okay. Is this normal and would it be due to torque steer? If it is not normal, what might it be due to?
Thanks,
Mike
My 993 C4S does not exhibit any pull (even under hard acceleration). As to why-- first guess would have been alignment (was it a good alignment shop? maybe have it rechecked)-- only other guess relates to tires. Are they abnormally worn? Tire pressures not equal?
First and easiest thing is to check is if you have a tire on the right with pressure too low, if its the rear right then its more obvious under acceleration, if its the front Rt its more under braking.
My 99 C4 Cab pulls to the right even after alignment and tyre check.
Someone (Porsche dealer in Orlando???) had told my wife that the C4 is a real tricky alignment and can take several hours and iterations to get right.
I ran into some of this with my 00 Millennium Coupe 996 C4--the dealer said the alignment's in spec. We went for a ride and I showed him how it drifted slightly to the right, and he said it was supposed to do that but they could tweak the alignment to be more neutral. They did, and no more drift. That car as well as the 996 TT I own now go straight down the road, and there's absolutely no torque steer.
I agree with the others--you either have a tire or alignment issue.
Mike, how have you been? Long time no see. I had a similar problem that took 3 alignments to resolve. Keep going back to the shop until they get it right.
Will you be at Sebring this Sunday?
yeah it would be tires then alignment. Bear in mind dealers love to say it's in spec doesn't mean it's exact or perfect just within their tolerances, that's why I have my alignment always done by someone else with a print out before and after, and a nice talk about what I want.
You might have a problem with a belt in one of the front tires. A quick check would be to swap the front tires side to side and see if the pull changes at all. Even if the tires are directional, swapping them for a short test drive really shouldn't hurt.
With new Toyo's, I am running 36/40 as the stock settings of 36/44 led to instability. Over time I see this increasing to 36/41-42 as the rear is a bit soft now at 40. Going to have new alignment and set some neg camber for my daily drive (PCH and other twisty roads).
Something else to consider if everything checks out... In Florida the DOT will often have the road laid with some degree of camber (higher in center) to facilitate water runoff and prevent pooling when it rains. In my experience, this camber varies from road to road and will effect some cars more than others.
