Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone I have a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 ... 2002 year ... Recently I have noticed a buffeting noise about the car when I get above 60 mph ... this then starts to cause vibration inside the cab .. it's the sort of noise you get when you open a sunroof or window ... I have recently had 4 new tyres fitted but do have to admit it was happening before this .. Maybe the tracking is out of alignment? MOT was fairly recent too and was told that the back brakes/disks will need changing soon .. so maybe this might be contributing to the problem I would really appreciate any posiible pointers on this Thanks in advance Paul

POST 2Original post

POST 3Original post

when i bought my car i had a similar sound which turned out to be a loose windscreen seal (outer) which didnt sound like it was comeing form the front at all over about 60 mph same can happen to the rear window outer seal i have no idea if this is the sound you are hearing but am reminded of the top gear race with the ferrari and the bent windscreen wiper blade?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Timpani You might be onto something there .... The owner of the car I purchased it off was honest enough to tell me that on one occasion a chimney pot fell off a roof and smashed the rear window on the car .... So maybe your hunch of the outer seal coming loose might be right !! I will investigate and let you know Thank you very much for the heads up

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmmm well I have had a good look around the car and nothing looks out of the ordinary ... I have noticed that when I hit 60 mph and above ... then reach over and hold the passenger side door glove compartment/handle the vibration is a great deal stronger than on my side of the car. Any other ideas on what this could be would be greatly appreciated The car is due for a service ... so will obviously draw it to their attention Cheers

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Sorry for sounding a bit on the dense side but where is that located? Cheers
