Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I recently got myself a sweet 2007 987.1 'S'. It has stock exhaust with the rectangular dual exhaust tips. I am not thrilled with the look. I have previously owned an 'S' with a really nice looking set of round dual tips. I recently found these tips at ECS. They seem to be what I am looking for and the price is right. I have seen others for 2 x's the price. They are out of my reach at this time. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with/about these? Or any suggestions for others? POST 2Original post

I was on the same boat, didn't like the snout look, was looking at that OEM ones also or used one on eBay. but decided to pay more and get those X pipe from Soul or Fabspeed. per their sites, X pipe will sound different, I only notice it a little bit, and should be less restrictive....well I didn't feel the difference. so if only for the looks I would just stick with OEM like dual tip.......

POST 3Original post

I too am looking for dual tips, I am not interested in loud or HP gain - OP - did you order them and if so would like to know how you found the fit and look?

POST 4Original post

X pipe is for aesthetics, It did not change sound in any way on my 3.4 and it’s worth every penny. Extremely well done, easy to install and looks fantastic.

POST 5Original post

Don't buy these cheap tips. I had these tips, well mine were Schnell branded, but same design. They will actually restrict airflow from the tail pipe, because there is a reduction in diameter in the neck of these. Replacing your tips with a dual-pipe version is the way to go. They don't have to be Soul or Fabspeed, even standard Cayman S (both 987 and 981 parts will fit) dual pipe tips will look and most importantly work well!

POST 6Original post

Seems like this is a classic you get what you pay for. I appreciate your advice. Another reply steered me towards the Soul tips. Looking like I will go that way. I like the short cut, single wall satin tips. My Cayman is meteor grey. I think the satin will look good. To my eye the longer one stick out too far. POST 7Original post

Consider Fabspeed, FVD Brombacher and BCVelocityExhaust (Dream) too! I ended up with Fabspeed and Dream since FVD didn't have in stock at the time (many years ago). All excellent in customer service!!!

I have a 987.1 so it looks like it's different for mine.
