Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

3 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok I have figured out that the wires go to an o2 sensor. Can anyone with a 996 peek under the bumper and let me know if there is an o2 sensor directly on the catalytic converter or if it’s further down the pipe. I am trying to figure out which sensors I need to order so I can get this issue fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am super lost.

POST 2Original post

Hey guys, I have a P0136 and P2271 code letting me know I need to replace one of my o2 sensors - Bank 1 Sensor 2. Upon inspection, I have TWO - Sensors 2's, see pick bellow, marked with red errors. Which one do I need to replace? ,

Quote: There is one in front of the cat (the one you can see in your second pic) and one further down the pipe closer to the muffler .

Quote: Do the code pop up every time you start the car? Is it a daily driver? Ive seen those codes tied to poor fuel or a dying battery... Have you cleared the codes? Do they come back?

POST 5Original post

+1 on the vagaries of those codes... But, my understanding is that each side of the V12 has it's own ECM (allowing AM to reuse a system built for a V6) and each ECM has two "banks", front and rear (so the car actually has 4 "banks"). I believe you need to decide which ECM is logging the codes and from there decide which O2 sensor is going bad. In my case, when I had a single 02 sensor going bad I traced it back to a wiring issue at the connector to the ECM. Shoving the wire back into the connector solved the problem (for now!). If this isn't correct, then my apologies...

POST 6Original post

Aston1936 has all the info you need for replacement. I changed all my O2 sensors at the same time. But I have a vantage. Remember those are Ford products so you should be able to get them fairly cheap.

Quote: I washed his videos and it's still not clear as I have two, side by side, o2 sensors in my downstream, one in each of the Y's as you can see in the pic. Im seeing just one in the DB9 applications. Ill see if I can reach out to him directly.

Quote: Would you happen to know where we can find the compatible part numbers? Is there a dedicated website for that? Or do I need to remove the current sensor to get the Ford part number? Thank you.

POST 10Original post

Aston1936 actually has a video on O2 sensors with original and aftermarket.
