Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys, 2006 996 C2 cabriolet. The top was working earlier today and I put it down specifically so I would have more room to replace the ignition switch. Following what I thought was a successful replacement the convertible top is not functioning. The replacement part# (from Pelican) is 4A0-905-849-B-M56 But when I look at the part# I took out it is 4a0 805 849b I don't know much about the internals of an ignition switch. Is it possible that these two parts are NOT equivalent as Pelican claimed? Or did I somehow break something else in the process?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Answered my own question: No there is no functional difference between the parts. They both work fine. My issue was a coincidental hood open sensor that I didn't notice. Adjusted and cleaned. Everything works as it should.
