Which colour did you spec your 718 GT4 / Spyder - Page 3 - Boxster/Cayman - PistonHeads UK

Hi All, I’ve noticed we don’t have a 718 GT4 / Spyder colour thread and was keen to understand what colour we’ve optioned. It’s a shame I can’t configure a poll so replies will have to do. My lock in date is in a few weeks and I’ve gone with crayon although I’m deliberating guards red too. Look forward in hearing what others have optioned Crayon: 1

Racing Yellow

Carrera white with red roof and classic interior.

Guards red red stitching red sw marker red belts red brake calipers. Btw if you are intersted OP there was a website called car colours which would give accurate info on car model colours in the UK. Unsure if it still exists.

I have gone for Gentian Blue, ticket quite a few option boxes, a lot more than I should have but not bucket seats . I wanted them but need Isofix for a baby seat ! I haven't been told when my freeze date is yet but I know it is 'supposed' to arrive at the latest 1st October, so still changing the spec on a near daily basis, still thinking of just going for the Shark Blue, as I do regret not getting Miami Blue on my current 718.

I would have chosen Racing Yellow, but I’ve dropped on an already spec’d cancelled order. The original buyer had chosen Gentian, Black Wheels, Yellow interior. Fine with me.

Gentian Blue, PDK, Satin wheels, PCCB, of course obligatory, but puked on, yellow stitching :-), yellow seat belts, LWB, full leather interior,chrono package, Car Play and some other minor stuff Edited by Romo on Tuesday 15th June 16:30

Nothing wrong with comfort spec and whatever fits your circumstances. I've also gone with the 18 ways with the passenger isofix option. Personally not a fan of shark blue, it does seem a little dull when I saw one in person. Miami blue on the other hand was my first choice ahead of crayon but such a shame they pulled it from the standard colour pallet

Crayon for my Spyder (on black wheels). Couldn't be happier with the choice, it's a terrible colour to photograph but in the flesh it really does look cool imo. DVLA have it as Grey on the V5, which is fair I suppose but makes it sound boring.

Spyder in Python Green with platinum wheels and black calipers. Need to chase about production and delivery as it locked nearly 3 weeks ago.

I enquired about the 000 package that they’ve launched stateside and got a ‘yes’ from Porsche UK but with rumours about them stopping production I didn’t want to give up my current allocation and risk no car. The car actually only came about very recently after a cheeky request for a Spyder with an OPC I’d only dealt with once about 4 years ago so I feel quite lucky at this stage. Factory collection would be awesome too but if you’re on end of year collection you may run into winter tyre issues even if they’ve opened up the collections again. Looking forward to seeing the revealed colour.

I'm loving the Shark Blue ( black calipers and platinum wheels ) look of GT4

I’ve sort of settled on GT Silver with 2 way seats (comfort) PCCB and full leather. Choosing the colour was/is the most difficult decision. Lockdown is the 7/7 so I still time to change it.

I changed my order from Gentian Blue to Shark Blue. The freeze date can not come soon enough (freeze date 22/07/2021, expected completion date 16/09/2021 and expected delivery 01/10/2021), I just keep adding options and the price just keeps going up ! From the pictures I've seen, in normal daylight (not under artificial indoor lights) Oak is quite a washed out hue. Brewster and Underberg are both far richer from that spectrum.

What made you decide against Aurum wheels, I saw a GT3 in Shark Blue and gold wheels at Oulton Park recently and it looked immense.

I did ask for PTS and Oak green metallic was what I’d have gone for, OPC made enquires but as expected - PTS was not an option for my slot. As such Gentian/Arum/ black callipers, now locked in, delivery in November. Edited by GRD_72 on Sunday 5th September 00:13

When I finalising the GT4, I was tempted to swap the satin black with Aurum on the crayon but didn't in the end.

My spec seems a little against the grain here... all black - black callipers, black logo... with the silver/black interior. I am planning a wrap once I have run it in, so thought i'd go neutral colour for now. Build date for early June so hopefully can share some pics over the summer if no delays

Just waiting for confirmation its all gone through ok but i've gone for PTS Yachting Blue Colour can look very different on screen so i ended up chasing down a sample. It's a nice deep blue/grey with tons of silver flake so should come alive in the sunshine especially with the Spyder's curves.

Looks like we have secured an October build Spyder very very happy only been waiting two and a half years, looks like it’s Birch Green for us.

I know it's fairly boring for a GT car but it shows off all the curves so well, probably wouldn't have picked it as not seen a 718 GT4 in white when i spec'd it nearly 2 years ago but my mate has several GT cars all in white and they always look so good.

Mine was white and it looked brilliant. Very motorsport!

Now…..where is that elusive build slot…..?

Got 4 weeks to make a decision and lock in build. Started off 100% set on Gentian, now I can't decide between Shark Blue or Python Green. I think Shark Blue is in the lead but not sure what wheel colour works best with it?

Mine arrived on Tuesday purchased from Reading and I must say they were fantastic to deal with.

Munro change of plan now due to availability but I’m now going for Amethyst! Hopefully still on course for a late Sept build.

GT silver for me

Looking at the used 718 GT4’s for sale there seldom appears to be any PTS coloured cars available- have the GT4 PTS build slots always been hard to come by or are prospective buyers just not interested in paying the 6 grand cost ? Are pts gt4 cars particularly rare?

Shark Blue and black callipers/ platinum alloys for me.
