As I'm a lefty playing a guitar, playing pool or shooting a rifle, to order a 12 string, the company (Cole Clark) told me that apparently they have to stop production of rightys to reset their jigs for one lefty, as it was the first lefty 12 string they were building, so I had to pay the 'lefty tax'

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a question about seat hinges and specifically locking devices. I have a RHD 69E. The passengers a outside seat hinge has a locking hook with cable and knob etc (1st photo), however the drivers seat outside hinge hasn’t and it even looks like it never has?? (2nd photo). So my question is should it or was there a different setup? Can’t find much info in the part list or online so thought I’d ask the experts. Cheers
Don't quote me on this, but I vaguely remember reading years ago, that the RHD passenger seat have the locking/release cable due to most 911's of that era were LHD, and the factory didn't bother changing them due to keeping costs down. Kinda like RHD 911's have the rear decklid and hood release cables on the left side of the car, as to change it to the right side would've cost too much in redesign...or something like that.
Or as I originally thought, they fitted them on the left for easier rear access from the footpath in a RHD country, because accessing the rear seat from the left side in a LHD country would have you opening the door in traffic, so it'd be interesting to know if a LHD car has the cable on the RH passenger seat
Thanks Lee, kind of makes sense from a production perspective.
I might have to source a mech and fit as currently drivers seat doesn’t seem terribly safe.
I reckon the production thing is correct...like left handed guitars.
🙄
I'm just glad pool cues aren't left and right handed
👍
😁
(Rifles are right handed though)
Those old 60's 911 seat mechanisms are pretty crap when theyre worn, and even the later cars become loose and need repairing.
I have a (vague) memory that 356’s and early 911’s didn’t have a driver side seat lock as that seat would always have the driver’s weight holding it down - whereas the passenger seat often would not.
