Been experiencing this more frequently: when I change into 2nd gear, at times, it does not engage.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Been experiencing this more frequently: when I change into 2nd gear, at times, it does not engage. Hence when the clutch is let go, a loud grinding noise occurs and I don't get a gear. Of course, at this time, I either try to engage 2nd again (push it in harder) or just engage 3rd.
Is this a common problem? Any thoughts on what might be causing it?
Are there any garages which will fix this near London and for how much?
Thanks
Same thing happens for me as well but I'm told it's quite common. There was a post on Rennlist from someone that had designed a mod that could eliminate this.
unfortunately the temp is not the real issue. It does get a bit better but even after driving it for some time, the gear still does not engage.
Hence, I'm suspecting that it's a gearbox issue.
Anyone knows garages who will look at fixing gearbox issues?
Mike at Sport and Classic is a great guy and really knows his stuff, I think he is a gear box specialist, i'm not sure but someone will be along to correct me. Mike has always been honest and really knows his stuff, could be his Porsche training...................... :?:
No i'm not related or conected to the company, just like being treated as a customer and not an open wallet, sure you know what i mean........
Mike at Sports and Classic really sorted me out when I was having gearbox problems. I would not hesitate to recommend him – very knowledgeable.
Again I have no connection to Sports and Classic.
Sports and Classic is a bit far. More than 2h drive. Not sure if I should try to drive that far on my gearbox.
Know of any in london or closer to london?
