Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Afternoon, Looking at a 997 911 C2S with what is described as a Porsche warranty fitted "gen 1.5" engine in 2010. The wording certainly makes it sound like a gen 2 engine/cures gen 1 engine failure issues but I cannot see anything about this on the internet or have heard of it before. I can only assume really this is a gen 1 engine perhaps with something upgraded. Any knowledge in the PH masses?

POST 2Original post

I imagine the term Gen 1.5 refers to the upgraded IMS bearing Porsche started to fit during 997.1 M97 engine production ? I'd give Baz or Grant at Hartech a call and they'll be able to confirm.
