After the battery died on my
2006 Cayman S
I jump started the car & changed the battery. After changing the battery the airbag light was on as well as a System Fault Error.
The Windows for both driver and passenger would not work (from either side). The Power mirrors would not adjust either and the central locking will not lock the doors.
The puddle lights for both doors are also not working & the windows will not index (go down when door opens, up when door closes).
I've checked all fuses, and none of the relays seem to be an issue. Is there anything else these items share in common that could be the issue.
Using a Snap-On scan tool the Airbag light was cleared easily, but the system fault error does not show any codes.
If I lock the doors with the key the doors can not be locked but the alarm will be engaged so when the doors are opened it will go off.
Any help would be appriciated
I'm having the same issue. How did you solve it?
As unfortunate as it is - James never posted a resolution to his problem. Chances are he never will since the last time he was here was Nov 10, 2018.
Question for you - have you checked ALL the fuses? Besides the footwell located fuse box, there are several other fuses located around the vehicle:
There is also a group of relays located under the dash on the driver's side (US) and another group in a panel in the rear compartment behind the side carpeted side panel on the port (left) side of the car. If you don't find a fuse blown, the relays might be worth looking at next.
For full wiring diagams - alldatadiy.com is reasonable. The trick to get a clear view of them is to right click on the thumbnail image (Windows-browsers) and select "Open in new tab" - that tab opens it at full resolution and it will be quite clear if enlarged or printed.
Thanks a lot. I checked the fuses. They were fine. Unfortunetaly we have been in a lockdown here so services are not open until 17th. I disconnected the battery yesterday. Today I connected again and everything was fine but I don't trust my solution because I changed my Cayman S (987.2)'s color and they had to remove the door panel. I think they did something wrong. So now I had a temporary solution until May 17th.
Thank you for the help. I will write again when I find out the main issue. Have a nice day.
