Clean bill of health and £150.00 lighter for 25 checks that I could have done myself if anyone had told me about gunk in the oil filler and oil seals etc.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I'm new to the forum and I am looking for some advice about a car that I am thinking of buying. It's a 54 plate C4S with 39K on the clock. It has a service history from Leeds Porsche up to 24K and the dealer has agreed to do a major service prior to delivery. There is not a mark on it but you always have niggling doubts when buying something like this. The reg no is YN54 HHA and in previous lives it had M2 LXB and X888 RAB on it. Does anyone know anything about the car?. I know it's a long shot but you never know.
Previously I have owned a GT-R R35 and a 300ZX but never a Porsche but you have to have on once in your life I think. Any help or buying tips would be appreciated also.
Cheers for Now.
Best thing to do is it get it independently inspected, either by Peter Morgan or a Prosche independent specialist local to the selling dealer.
They should b able to tell you any minor or major issues
Gee thanks guys.
After wading through the hundreds of replies and top tips  I decided to get it inspected. Clean bill of health and £150.00 lighter for 25 checks that I could have done myself if anyone had told me about gunk in the oil filler and oil seals etc. etc.
Cheers then :bye:
Yep - agreed. I was on hols last week and would have replied with a few hints and tips on what to expect/look out for - I have a 996 4S myself.
£150 is way too cheap for a decent inspection - Hell I would have charged you half that and written a list !!!
If you have checked the history and driven the car, I guess it's decision time??
Good luck with it!
It may have been cheap but it was thorough enough. I have bought the car and I love it. Nowhere near as fast as my GT-R but it's a different experience altogether. I feel everything in this car whereas the GT-R was just awesome without any serious input from me.
The jury is out on which I prefer but I would like to have both cars to play with!.
Cheers.
Nope, thats the KW Variant 3 Coilover Suspension spectraluk was refering to.
Spectraluk's C4S had these fitted a while back... think there was an article in the GTPorsche mag a few issues ago.
I would love some too on my C4S but all the bills seem to have come in this month.... :nooo:
Maybe later.....
Yep - boutte is right and thanks for noting the spread in the GT mag!!
KW's are not the cheapest of suspension options, but the performance difference they make to the car is immense... fully adjustable too..
It's like getting into a completely different car post fitting. I'm loving it all over again... worth saving up for..! :thumb:
