I'd also appreciate a part number for these injection pump hoses as mine seem to be brittle already hence the white bypass tube I temporarily installed on the other hoseline that broke.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. I changed my alternator the other day and inadvertently cracked and disconnected a hose which I think is related to my current P0410 and P1411 Check Engine error codes - Air Injection pump. Can someone tell me where to reconnect this hose on the picture please. Would really appreciate your help guys. I'd also appreciate a part number for these injection pump hoses as mine seem to be brittle already hence the white bypass tube I temporarily installed on the other hoseline that broke.

POST 2Original post

Hi, the car is reading the P2440 and P2442 error codes. From looking online it has something to do with the secondary air injection valves not closing properly. Is anyone familiar with this issue? Does a part usually need replacing etc.? 2018 model

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Saw this diagram on another thread. This might be a good clue where to connect the tube/hose..... What is that dome looking part number 6, where is it located in my engine bay, how do I access that without pulling out the whole engine and what are the part numbers for those hoses?......

POST 4Original post

I’ve done a few checks. I checked that what I think are the secondary air intake pumps work. They do. I’ve removed the outlet air hoses from the pumps and blown into them to check if the valves to the exhaust are stuck open (as the error code suggests). They’re definitely not stuck open. A wire on the cable attached to one of the sensors is slightly frayed. Could this be causing the error code?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I think I find what I was looking for. It seems I'm the only one having or had this issue. No worries. We're updating this thread to help other 996 owners who may have this issue in the future. Let's remember that we have 20 year old 996s now :-) You Tube Now my questions have been partially answered somewhere on 5:20 sec of the video or Step #9 onwards. However, I now have to figure out how I can take out the intake manifold on the driver's side to access that vacuum reservoir. Any ideas guys? How do I access the top part of the 996 engine without taking the whole engine out first? Is there any access window or service door opening inside the cabin? perhaps?

POST 6Original post

This is practically a new SUV. It shouldn't have wires scuffing so soon. It must have plenty of warranty left so I would get Bentley have a look at it .
