had my car for couple of months now.temp gauge always sat just a smidge past 80 mark.just had some work done at opc new gear box got it back today and the temp gauge now only goes half way between 40 and 80 surley this cant be right any advice appreciated :dont know:

Manual or Tip? If it's Tip, I seem to recall a post by porscheuro about this some while ago. Something to do with a vacuum pipe getting kinked, and causing the heat exchanger valve for the Tip radiator being permanently open, resulting in over-cooling. Yes - I know it sounds vague........ If it's manual - forget I said anything!

possible cause yes , also have they bled the coolant system correctly.. so they decided it needed a new box then :thumb:

I hope it was a warranty job..... The Merc boxes do suffer from leaks - mine did - but it is madness to fit a new box, as the leaks can be fixed by a decent indy.

gonna take it back tues.will mention vac pipe .and bleeding coolant,thing that gets my goat is that they said taken for test and every thing is ok .
