Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

108 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Personally, I am ok with the Blue car with the legacy Le Mans flames on it...again, its a bit of fun and links to an official Porsche decal scheme...The year Porsche reentered Le Mans, I did inquire about something similar for my Guards Red 996 GT3 but couldn't find something that worked.

They do all look good, originally I was going with Red but changing to Sapphire Blue Metallic

POST 4Original post

I think Carmine with silver stitching would look cool. but mine is white as it stands with every thing red.

PorscheGT4 said: but mine is white as it stands with every thing red. Are you going for standard white?

POST 7Original post

Does anyone know if the cars shown above are standard white or the metallic carrara white? I'm definitely going white, but would like to see the difference between them both.

POST 8Original post

Phooey said: Are you going for standard white? yep, it was metallic 1st, but in real life it's pants and not the pearl I was after. you cannot even tell standing next to it, so not worth it. white with red or Carmine red with silver for me, cannot decide.

POST 9Original post

silver is really dull think I would go red or yellow, loved the yellow with yellow stitching inside of launch car

POST 10Original post

I'm coming around to white as well, think the black wheels look the part with it. I saw red stitching in a gts & wasn't sure of it. I was originally going for silver but it's definitely a bit dull looking in the pictures. Though maybe that's better out on the road, I'm a bit uncomfortable driving something too shouty!

POST 11Original post

I can imagine black looking really good but as always... a nightmare to keep clean!

POST 12Original post

Looks great in all the colours! How depressing!

POST 13Original post

Unless they offer a PTS I'm going with yellow.... Father is going with Guards red.... I'm going std breaks, he's going PCCB... so some nice contrasts..... but sod the colour it's about the drive....

POST 14Original post

Phooey said: Nice to see a picture of the satin black wheels! Who is going for black wheels then?

POST 15Original post

miskalachi said: I can imagine black looking really good but as always... a nightmare to keep clean! Agreed, black with yellow carbon breaks & yellow stiching.

POST 16Original post

I just received my order confirmation for PTS (second batch, early 2016). My only problem is that I quite like the look of the white! The original plan was Riviera blue but I'm not sure if the shouty colours really flatter the GT4's lines. For example I don't like the yellow at all.

POST 17Original post

swimd said: The original plan was Riviera blue but I'm not sure if the shouty colours really flatter the GT4's lines. For example I don't like the yellow at all. GT4 is like GT3 RS - shouty colours work best IMHO, subtle blacks/gtreys work better on the standard car and S riviera would be great but I always think its a great shame when there is no link inside, ie matching stitching or door/dash painted cappings, or even matching seat inserts

Anybody know what colours are at Geneva, just yellow? Going later in the week for a look round the car and was hoping to see different colours before speccing.

I love the Yellow +1 Yellow is my favourite too at the moment. 2nd favourite is White with Red and Black in 3rd place. None of the other colours are floating my boat on the GT4.

POST 23Original post

Not that I am going to be speccing one up but the yellow looks great when I see it in pictures of the Boxster and Cayman but whenever I see one in the metal it never seems as crisp and bright. Do they do different versions or is it the photos being touched up?

I think the current yellow really pops - even in the UK; unlike Speed Yellow, which I know has it's fans, but think looks mustardy out of the showroom and away from strong California sunshine

POST 25Original post

White for me. I was going for Agate grey but I've had a few grey cars. I do like red but the only red car I'd have is Italian. Yellow too showy for me. Black hides the lines. Silver looks a bit dull.

POST 37Original post

DMC2 said: I've been told colour to sample might be possible.... to be confirmed. I think it may be worth it. None of the standard colours are really that appealing (to me). My current spec is recorded as Dark Blue Metallic with satin black alloys. Plenty of time to change (if indeed I actually get a car in 2016). I now think the darker colours are not the way to go on the GT4 and if I had to choose a standard one it may well be Sapphire Blue. I saw dark blue met on a 911 last week and it is actually a bit sombre without bright sun on it. Agate Grey was another option but I think I've gone off that now too. There is a local Carmine Red CGTS that doesn't quite do it either for the money and if PTS was available it may be worth it for soemthing extra-special to hold on to. I spent £1,850 on fancy TVR paint 10 years ago and I still haven't tired of that, so maybe PTS is the answer to get something you really like.

Come on guys, stickers/decals is just a bit of fun. Depends on the colour of the car - imv white does give you a bit of a blank canvas. I sourced and applied the stickers to mine myself - they will probably be removed if I get bored of them or if I came to sell the car. I guess as long as there is some connection to stickers/stripes with some precedence that helps.

Weirdly the yellow works well, especially with the yellow callipers which you match up.

POST 70Original post

JiggyJaggy said: Weirdly the yellow works well, especially with the yellow callipers which you match up. Thanks. It's all 'matchy matchy' ...the centre stripe also has yellow piping though not clear in the pictures. My friend with identical car but steels (and red internal stitching) did the same but with red lettering and centre piping. They do look a pair To be honest, red against white is a more striking contrast. (EDIT: and then Porsche copied us with the 911R side decals!)

I have just been having that exact debate as my gt4 is currently in for ppf and the fitter has asked if I want any decals etc added. I am a little tempted to have the gt4 highlighted on the side vent, but other than that nothing interests me.
