That appears to be a fine C4S, it should sell fairly quick if the asking price is 26ish; if a thorough PPI comes clean, even for the high miles, definitely a nice find.

(Again I had to replace a wheel on my Turbo and the new while while it is identical to the original one has a different part number.

Can you please let me know what upgrades are we talking about and how much they will run me - want to make sure I will have enough set aside right away.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Saw this on Ebay and now have an itch to get it (someone needs to block Ebay access in my apartment lol)...

Any chance someone here seen this car (or seller - they seem to sell some Porsche's) before and can shed some light on it? Don't know much about 996s (will need to read up), but did C4S had widebody done at the factory or was it something one of the owners did on the car?
Thanks!

Why does it need new spoilers and approximately how much do these go for? Want to see if I can make them lower the price if its something expensive...
And yes, PPI is a must and will be done if I'll decide to go ahead. Posted this mainly for people to take a look and see if there might be some obvious flows I simply don't know of or don't know where to look for them.
Thank You!
BTW the drivers side AC condensor looks aweful new compared to the passenger side too
and the wheel curbing suggests the PO ran it thru an automatic car wash .... it cleaned up OK but I am guessing it was only washed away from home....
how's that for speculation
Front lip is about $100+. I replaced mine last year & got the part from Suncoast Porsche. The install is easy, plus you get clean out the condensers at the same time. This seller always seems to have some nice P-cars at good prices.
If you look at the driver front spoiler, it is torn on the bottom where it let's some air pass through for the brake ducts.... Yes, I would looks at signs for any structural/under carriage damage. If not and ppi is clean, with some history docs.... Then go for it. I would also leave some money aside for some preventative upgrades.
Thanks a lot. Can you please let me know what upgrades are we talking about and how much they will run me - want to make sure I will have enough set aside right away.
P.S. Doubt there are any history docs available. As with all Ebay auctions, if it's not listed, most likely it means there are none.
Here are some of my tips. Take them for what they are, just advice.
1) I would buy from an enthusiast instead of a dealer.
2) Either dealer or individual I would factor in a warranty and full PPI to the price. Normally your PPI can end up reducing the price you negotiated for the items they did not tell you about. The warranty will save you if you have a catastrophic engine failure (like I did) shortly after purchase. Even if you PPI comes up golden it is not full proof. I blew a gasket and destroyed two cylinders. I am just now getting back in my car 15K and several months later.
3) Get a car fax from the seller and find out where the car has been. Often times you can contact some shops and the local PCA group and they will know the car.
4) Don't get emotional about the car. (This has never worked for me
). If you start getting info that does not sound right or makes you wonder then walk on the deal. Your intuition is portably correct. There are tons of examples of bad cars out there. Don't get stuck with one.
5) Don't put a time table on getting a car. Watch the market for a while and learn before you buy.
Good luck and have fun.
BTW...that s an awesome looking car!
Across having 4 911s (3 with over 100k miles), tracking them, talking to people @ track, etc. I've yet to come across an IMS bearing issue. AOS I've seen twice.
That's by far the cheapest C4S I've seen advertised yet btw. Good luck.
FWIW, my car's airbag cover looks the same. This is from my elbow rubbing up against it. My passenger side looks brand new. Although I tracked my car a lot, so the rubbing is mostly from bracing myself
Based on pics cars looks clean. Lived entire life in the west coast. Miles are a little bit high for my taste to start but if price is right and PPI and background check is ok you should be fine
Good luck !
Not too bad, pretty good actually.
The radiator on the driver's side is a replacement. Could be factory. The factory changed from a dull black finish to a brighter aluminum finish some time back. (I had to replace a Turbo radiator and the factory unit came in bright aluminum color while the original was a dull/flat black color.)
But coupled with as some else with sharp eyes pointed out with a newer looking head light on the driver's side too... Wonder is the wheel on the driver's side is newer? Even the same part number. (Again I had to replace a wheel on my Turbo and the new while while it is identical to the original one has a different part number. I had the parts manager at a Porsche dealer check and the part number for the Turbo wheel changed even though the wheel is the same dimensionally and has the same weight, etc.)
Also, I wonder if the date codes of the front tires match?
It might be on ok car but the OP should check the car for accident damage repairs.
Sincerely,
Macster.
