I think about $2700 incl flex disc and oil change...less due to 10% discount from website.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi all,
after looking for C4S on/off for past several years, i finally found one that i was very excited about and just picked it up this wknd(haven't had a p-car since i sold my 89 cab when my daughter was born 10 yrs ago)...and really enjoy driving a stick shift again.
it's a white/black 2003 C4S w/ 2 prior owners MANY performance upgrades.
the one thing that needs to be done is the ims/rms/new clutch(and possibly valve cover gasket), but otherwise the car's in great shape(interior is near new for 73k miles).
here are a few items:
Bilstien pss9 adj coilover suspension
black techart wheels
softronic tune with flash cable
ipd plenum,misha gt2 style wing
awe 300 cell hiflo cats
sony cd/stereo
p.s. would welcome everyone's input on when/whether to do valve cover gasket right away, and also whether i should get a used carbon fiber shifter ****(i like the way it looks).

Thx guys for compliment.
Very excited to be back in Porsche, esp the C4S.
Yes, techart wheels
P.s. just got ims/rms/new clutch/shaft flex disc done...very happy with flintworks, and clutch is soft and buttery smooth.

Can I ask how much the IMS/RMS/clutch replacement cost? Just bought my first pcar a few months ago, a 2002 Targa with 78k miles and I'm thinking about having it done. Also, was your clutch stiff before you had it done?
Thanks,
Chris
I think about $2700 incl flex disc and oil change...less due to 10% discount from website. If in SF area, I would strongly reco Alden at Flintwerks in Campbell - ck his yelp reviews.
Yes, clutch was super stiff and not smooth/linear...now buttery smooth like a new 991 and/or Honda clutch.

The LN Engineering IMS retrofit (fixes the problem forever) is about $500. The ClutchMasters FX400 carbon clutch with 6 puc pressure plate (fixes the problem forever) is about $2000. Add 6 hours of labor and you're done!
I dont think anyone answered you. Its the rubber/metal flex disc that connects the trans to the driveshaft for C4/C4S models. Also known as a guibo disc. Its prone to cracking, not exepnsive, and very easy to replace. All C4/C4S owners need to check this. If its the original, its probably bad. Its the disc on top of the blue box in pic.
Thx everyone for the compliments.
Can anyone suggest what to do regarding headlights?
Unfortunately I do not have the Xenon-type/HID headlights and I really miss the brightness of my other cars...any input would be appreciated.
