I have an 2001 tt that has heated sports seats, that I am replacing with track seats.

Possible to get the plug end of the harness that comes w/ heated seats, run a relay and power since you have the switch already?

Suggestion
It's a simple system, you either have current running through the seat heating pad or you don't.
Use oem switches, make your own simple harness between them

Grab power from somewhere nearby, fuse it, use the OEM switches, make your own simple harness between them.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 2001 tt that has heated sports seats, that I am replacing with track seats. I'd like to take them and put them in my 2002 C4S which has standard seats without heat.
Is it possible to do this? I could take out the heated seat buttons from the turbo but they are glossy vs the C4S buttons that are flat. So I assume if I got the right buttons that is just a simple swap?
Probably depends if the car comes wired for heated seats, even if not equipped with them (common harness). If the harness is there then it should be easy. If the harness isn't there, it becomes more challenging.
Not plug and play unfortunately. The wiring harness is specific to the options that are installed in the particular vehicle.

Possible to get the plug end of the harness that comes w/ heated seats, run a relay and power since you have the switch already? Seems easier. All you need is basically power, right?
I've got aftermarket heated seats in my C4S. I wonder how hard it would be to connect aftermarket switches and electrical components to the OEM seats...
Probably not very if you don't mind hacking the factory heat harness. It's a simple system, you either have current running through the seat heating pad or you don't. Grab power from somewhere nearby, fuse it, use the OEM switches, make your own simple harness between them. If the switches can't handle the current through them then you could always wire in a simple relay. I'm simplifying things a bit, but it doesn't seem that difficult.
Note that you probably can't pull the power off the phone connector inside the lower console (a favorite place to steal power from), as the amperage for the heated seats is likely greater than the phone connector is fused for.
I added heated seats to my car several years ago. Added the heated cushions, wiring etc. it was all biased on a write up by a guy named Dennis Vogel who had a blog with detailed instructions, diagrams etc. However I don't find the blog online anymore. I have copies of the info in my files if you need it.
