Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My passenger side radiator cooling fan is making a high pitched whine when it's on high speed. I'm guessing I need a new fan? Any advice on where to buy one? I checked the Bentley manual and the procedure looks pretty easy. But does anyone have any advice? Thanks Brian

POST 2Original post

Just out of curiosity are you sure that the drivers side is also running on high? Mine are pretty loud when they are on high. No real bearing whine though. Sorry no help on original Q, haven't had to pull a fan yet.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes the driver's sounded like it was on high. But only the passenger side was making the noise

POST 4Original post

To replace the fan, I know the bumper cover has to come off. Wheel well liner too. Both are pretty easy and there are online videos and the Pelican Parts website has tutorials. I'm not clear if the radiator needs to be completely removed from the system (disconnected, drained, refilled, etc.), or if it can simply be loosened from its mounting and moved around to gain access to the radiator fan motor.

Bosch replacement is much cheaper at $200 http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Numbe..._94E6B777.aspx You need to find the right one for your year and model though here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=105-15
