Suggestion

I was giving the car a good clean on Saturday and noticed with the rear boot open, to clean the interior glass, the horn beeped briefly and I heard the central locking activating.

Hi All Couple of alarm related questions for you: 1) I was giving the car a good clean on Saturday and noticed with the rear boot open, to clean the interior glass, the horn beeped briefly and I heard the central locking activating. Is this normal? I'm guessing the car tried to lock itself up because the key had not been put in the ignition? I have noted the same thing happening with the front boot open. 2) After the above clean I put the car in the garage. Went to the car today, Monday afternoon, and the remote function would not open the car. I had to unlock manually to rectivate the remote function. The manual does say the remote functions switches off after 7 days but this has only been 2! Anyone have any idea on this? Thanks all

I've had the front trunk, boot, whatever, do that to me at random intervals though I hadn't heard the doors relock. Could have been covered by the beep because they were locked. As I understand it the doors should stay open until the trunk is closed which resets the door locks and alarm in something like 60 sec assuming a door wasn't opened. At least that's the way it normally behaves. Nice feature to keep from locking your keys in the trunk. At least the way I read the manual the only time it should beep is when you press lock and something is still open. I don't have any related fault codes so your guess is as good as mine. Too many computers trying to talk at once perhaps.
