I had the stereo replaced with a touchscreen Car Play unit, the original owners hadn't even specced the bluetooth connection....I find the car very low, comparable to my prior Tuscan.

So bought my dream car 6 weeks ago, 981 Boxster GTS.
It’s a beautiful, lovely car with more power and style than I’ll ever need.
However, there are things I don’t like. Annoyances.
Alcantera steering wheel. It’s uncomfortable, too big for a sports car, too think, and the material seems to dry the finger tips and feels crap in the hand. My Audis wheel is much more comfortable. Some audio controls would be nice too. Was that really too much to ask?
Seats. They really are a bit crap. Not near comfortable enough. Not enough support, not enough adjustment. Yes it only has the two way electrics, but that’s not the story. The shape and size of the seat is a bit poor considering the cars price bracket. Much cheaper cars have much better seats.
Too much wind buffeting with the roof down. BMW convertible was much more comfortable and far less buffeting. I’m going to have to get a beanie and look like a prat….!
Drink problem in sport mode. Lol I don’t really care. Because NOISE!

I think you’ll find that is the story.
You got a car with seats that don’t work for you.
I have 18-way adjustables, they are superb. I’ve also done a few long journeys in the buckets, they’re also brilliant.
You picked a snickers when you don’t like peanuts
Well my entry into Porsche was a 981 BGTS and I dont really recall the stuff you are mentioning. Ok I bought mine new so options were down to me. It sounds to me like you really didnt have enough of test drive even when I was buying secondhand cars test drive was 30 minutes minimum and if they said no which some did I walked away

I’m pretty sure Porsche improve and refine their cars all the time. So they therefore can’t have been perfect. I’m just wondering what others find details they don’t like, about their otherwise wonderful cars.

Current Porker (987.2 3.4).
Engine sounds quite good. Would rather it sounded great.
Top of the rev range is a little bit flat.
PASM dampers are mediocre quality, even when tweaked with the DSC box.
Seat is a bit too high.
'Sport' seat is fairly rubbish re support, sadly buckets super rare unless R.
Actually, the whole car is a bit too tall, wish they'd dropped the seat and roof by a couple of inches.
Would prefer the 997 dash top (this is actually doable, but probably can't be arsed).
Steering wheel rim is a bit too thicc.
Gear shift isn't great, somewhat fixed this by fitting a factory short shift. Could be better.
Factory brake pedal is crap. Somewhat fixed that with the bigger brake MC. Could be better.
Bose sound system is mediocre.
PCM has bluetooth for phone but not music. Fixed that but annoying that it's not standard.
And finally wish the people ordering these things new back in the day had better taste re colours and had a clue re options. Decent colour and spec virtually non existent. Takes forever to find a half decent one and finding one with absolutely the right spec super hard.
Oh, and the 20k mile official service interval is annoying. IMO it's too long and it means it's hard to find a used example that's been serviced properly. Loads of cars out there that have run near 20k on the same oil. Yuck.
Still a great car and loads to like about the driving experience, it's a lovely steer in many ways despite the things I don't like. And it's very practical. There's nothing at all I'd rather have for the money and little if anything I'd rather have for double the money, would have to get up into triple to quadruple the money to get to cars I'd definitely prefer.
Anyway, never driven a car that didn't have quite a few things that I didn't like. Sadly, no major car manufacturer has built a car for me, personally! Current car is good enough that it's probably my forever car in terms of something interesting and ICE. It's a great car. But there will always be things I'd want to improve.
I have several Porsches. I am generally very happy with them.
However, they do not understand how to build simple interfaces to Nav, heating and cooling and so on. When you look at a good Japanese car this stuff is a breeze. Of course someone will say that people who worry about this stuff are not focused on the important stuff like driveablilty anyway.
I think the two things are not mutually exclusive. Porsche are very good at engineering but they need to hire a couple of Apple people to design simple intuitive interfaces. Just look at how much better a phone nav system is to the Porsche one for example.
And of course there are cupholders...I think I would prefer to have none than the silly things they install.
I have a fantasy that all of the German cupholder designers get together in a Schloss in the hills for a Christmas party and over copious amounts of schnapps present awards for the most infuriating cupholders that the stupid foreigners have to decipher. Not just Porsches either, though the handcuffs that pop out to the 997 dash are designed to vibrate so the coffee spills. I had an M6 which had something that looked like a gynaecological instrument that you had to slot in , an SL that provided a sort of tiny toilet that also slotted in and so on and also so fold out holders positioned just under the nav system, so they could short it out if one braked.
Fun to drive though. Would be nice to be able to have a water bottle to hand on a desert drive ..........
Nothing really. I wish it had had a couple more options but I can live without them. If I try hard I guess I could say that the front lip is inconveniently low - think speed humps and sloping exits into steeply cambered roads; that's sports PASM 20 mm lower than standard for you.

The pop out cup holders are, on initial exposure to them, wonderful, magical things.
Then you try to use them. They seem far too high up. And not that secure. I don't trust them. They don’t look like they really want to hold your drink securely. And so high up. Hot drinks should probably be kept at about knee level…. I can’t bring myself to use them. Heavy braking would see the contents thrown over the dash. Heavy acceleration, well, there must be you-tube videos of busty lovelies getting splattered with milkshakes…. Must do a search on that one…..
But award winningly beautiful in aesthetic design. Engineering master pieces.

Sorry, I could probably have worded my response differently. All my recent Porsches were ordered prior to launch so there was no opportunity for a test drive - the only exception being my current Macan. So Perhaps I am not the best one to judge the effectiveness of a test drive ! Ironically the only one I’ve had an issue with is the Macan - I really cannot get on with the touch screen for the media, selecting music is dangerous in my view - but I do not learn from experience it seems since I have just ordered a Macan T ( no test drive) which will have even more touch screen operation ! thanks
I've had my 997 for 10 years. Things that annoy me:
- How easy the interior wears / marks
- Excessive tyre noise, makes longer trips more of a chore than they should
- Manual gearbox can be quite recalcitrant
By contrast to you, I love the (standard / comfort) seats. Sports seats (with the "winglets") instead I find uncomfortable. The design is different in 9x1s though, I think?

I believe that, ultimately, German engineers don't have their heart set on eating / drinking inside the car, which is why the designs are always tentative. Its a token effort for the foreign markets!

I will agree after having read some of the other posts the cupholders are completely & utterly useless, they are just an accident waiting to happen, I dont use them. having split coffee onto/into a laptop kind of cured me of wanting to take that sort of stuff in a car anyway
Very minor but annoying.
On a PDK car there is a gear selector indicator set into the rev counter dial, just above the digital speedo. The indicator uses a small red light to show you’re in D.
I don’t like red lights on a dashboard. Just occasionally I’d forget about that light then when driving it would catch my eye and I’d think for a second or two it was a serious warning light.
Gosh I have a huge list.
My Cayman drones massively between 2.5-3k due to my modded exhaust and the Cayman's inconvenient natural resonant frequencies; it is very, very loud at full chat; its "cupholders" are terrible; it often makes totally unnecessary crackle noises on lifting throttle; I can only fit one wife/dog/child in it at a time (although it has carried two cats in suitable boxes); it cannot carry sick sheep, alpacas or pigs to the vet; it is very poor at crossing muddy fields and climbing unmade hills; sometimes the carbon buckets make my backside a bit numb; it only has 385+HP and is shown up at tracks by McLarens and GT3s; it makes me look an idiot as I am middle aged and a moderate chubber (once I passed Hammersmith County Court and two women outside told me that I looked like a d**k and assumed I had a small one); getting out is a special trick/spectacle (see chubber and middle aged); the telly thing PCM is outdated and just pretty poor; it has lots of buttons around the gear lever that have no use; it doesn't have extended leather, cruise control or special two zone climate control; the (vanity) roll cage makes occasional pinging and twanging noises and stops me putting dogs/bicycles/pigs in the back; you cannot fit a tow hitch to drag track wheels and kit to track days; it is pretty firm on the road and it is far too fast for the UK roads.
It therefore remains, in my eyes and after 4 years, absolutely, bloody brilliant and I own a 15 year old Defender for the moments in life when it is just not quite right.
I hope every petrolhead gets to be as annoyed as I have been by a Porsche at some time in their life too.

Exactly. Bound to be stuff that annoys you, quite possibly loads. But the car can still be basically brilliant and utterly joyous.
All you getting slightly miffed at the design of the cupholders
. Don’t have them in mine…
Wish the original owner had specced the sports seats - the comfort hobbies are a bit, er, less comfy.
And Slate Grey is a bit of a dull colour too - so many others that were available in 1993.
But the Cup 2 wheels are original and the rest of the car is great fun.
I owned a 987 Cayman over a decade ago for less than 18 months. The car was quite excellent in most situations, except:
Other people were beastly to me: struggled out of junctions, knobheads racing me and the frequent RH fist thing. I moved onto a Vantage, and the difference was night and day.
Too dull unless deep into license-losing territory
Dealers. Just awful.
Options list. Brand new in 2009, and so little came as standard
Black on black. Yes, that was my fault, but a grim place to sit on a winters day
Not special or rare, just common as muck
I'm driving a Panamera that sups on the devil's fuel.
40+ mpg, even on short runs, but 1st and 2nd gears really annoy me.
It has the 8-speed (non PDK) auto box in it.
In the first two gears, it changes up at 2100 revs (1300 revs for the other gears).
This, to me, anyway, seems absurd in a 3 litre diesel.
One for the first-world-problems thread, no doubt!
The gearing.
7th is good for motorway work, but results in the rest being far too long.
Understand it's fixable, but can't be bothered.
Edit: Oh, it's a 981 CGTS. Be handy if I bothered to mention the actual car!
I think that's it. I can put up with the firm ride, tyre roar, droney engine at certain revs, outdated PCM, skipping wheels at low speeds, a cabin that mists up really easily, dopey cup holders that aren't deep enough and all that other stuff, because I bought a sports car and that is 100%, without a shadow of a doubt what it feels, looks, sounds and goes like. Warts and all. It's effing lovely. But that gearing is such a shame.
Edited by rawenghey on Tuesday 25th October 12:56
718 Cayman GTS 4.0 here. My third Cayman having owned them for 16 years or so now.
The gearing is a bit long (my car is a manual) which is noticeable when out for a brisk drive on twisty roads - I mostly leave the car in third with occasional forays into second. By contrast, doing the same routes in my GR Yaris I am somewhat busier going up and down the 'box.
The steering feel isn't as good as it was on the 987 generation although in my opinion it's better than the 981 generation.
The engine makes strange ticking noises when the car is in stop/start traffic or when it is stationary and only after having warmed up. Apparently they all do that, and the car I drove on the PEC session definitely did it too. This is slightly annoying, especially because the 4 litre flat six engine is otherwise completely brilliant.
The stupid electronic handbrake by my right knee is probably my only real annoyance. I wish the car still had a proper manual centrally-mounted handbrake like the 987 generation cars. Once again the GR Yaris provides the contrast here for me.
For the avoidance of any doubt, I love Caymans in general and this GTS 4.0 in particular is a really nice thing to drive and own.

I bought the same at the start of Summer and find it hard to agree with much of that. I had the stereo replaced with a touchscreen Car Play unit, the original owners hadn't even specced the bluetooth connection....I find the car very low, comparable to my prior Tuscan. You have to be extremely slow on speed bumps so I don't see how it can go any lower. Seats are fine in mine. I agree with the 20k service interval though, I've just popped it in for an annual oil change and check over. It's only done 45k so I'm not too concerned about the prior intervals but it would be a thing I would always do. The gearchange is positive, if a little slow but I wanted the manual specifically. Things like steering wheel buttons are a nice absence, it throws focus on the driving not the gadgets.
The only thing that really bugs me is the indicator/wiper stalks - the action is so cheap & nasty a Dacia would put it to shame. Oh and no auto (or permanently switched on) lights, I drive with dipped on year-round.

Didn't say I wanted lower ride height.
997.2 C2S.
Road/tyre noise. There's very little else that annoys me.
OK, the infotainment's dreadful, but that can be sorted. I like the height (that several have complained about); I'm retired and a lot of cars are too low for me to get in and out easily. The hard-back sports seats are really comfy, but grippy enough to stop me sliding about. It goes/stops/handles well enough for everyday use on the public roads. It's far-and-away the best sports/entertainment/weekend car I've owned.
Speed 3 said:

Ha, I was trying to think of something and this is definitely one! A 2008 Cayenne was as bad as a 2006 997; the sharp click action feels really cheap.
Having the pull the door handle twice (or 1.5 times) to get out is a bit weird too.
The connected services and apps used to be a total murder/suicide.
The recent change to My Porsche has improved things but it's still a bit of a dogs breakfast with the Porsche Connect Store not being integrated into the My Porsche site and App.
The road noise is a pain on roughly surfaced roads, it's amazing how much quieter it is on a good quality smooth surface.
Passengers think the cupholders are engineering marvels, however they are too short and the flash and expensive Porsche travel mugs feel like they're going to fall out round every corner!
Good thread OP.

Not much annoys me and I suspect it helps that I don’t drive it everyday. Also, I’m modifying it to my own tastes. The biting point on the clutch is a little high and I’d prefer a proper handbrake. I’m 80Kg and the standard seats pinch my rib cage perfectly. If you’re a big heavy guy the standard seats might be a load of rubbish and fancy, heavy 18 way armchairs may be better. I tend to generally feel that less is more in a 911, for example; I don’t understand why people want to pay Porsche their hard earned money to line the roof in Alcantara. I spend very little time inspecting the roof of my car and to me the standard material looks very much like Alcantara anyway. Baffling?!?

There’s very little to be annoyed about in this car for the intended purpose. It’s a bit wide on some lanes.
Don’t own it anymore but my 987.1 Cayman S.
The thing that annoyed me the most.
Bore scored engine drinking a litre of oil to 100 miles at around 45000 miles.
Traded the thing in sharpish. Bought it second hand and I believe the previous owner had dumped it knowing it needed a rebuild at some point. Can’t blame them £10k plus to repair is a big bill on a car worth only £18k at the time.

Baffling?!?

Yes. Good point. And having to have the car warmed up and running to get the level at all. Totally idiotic.
Hangover from the days of dry sump systems. I have no idea if it's required these days on 996 & later. Probably just a gimmcik now. Dunno.
987.2 boxster .
Fumbling one handed holding luggage off a wet car park floor with the other hand trying to open the frunk .
Macan
Over keen stop start thing stopping the engine during parking manoeuvres.Ok you can deactivate it I know but the default is ON .
It needs a dose intelligence to read the speed , rpm, gear actuation and steering angle to figure out you are about to move in the other direction pronto when your hands just gone from D to R or vis versa instead of killing the engine , pausing and immediately re firing the thing up .

I haven’t detected any difference. The spec is more luxurious than the 991.2 so maybe this is a confounder.

Cheers. So when they changed to the 9A1 engine, then.
New one. Bright red light high on the dashboard telling me the doors are locked. Ok thanks for that very important.
Ok, hadn’t driven it at night before. So tonight noticed it for the first time.
Very intense little LED just above the sports Chrono.
So I am on the look out for a little black sticky ‘dot’ sticker….

It seems the 9A1 engine is dry sump (or near enough that the best way to measure oil level is running and warm?). Could oil level in a wet sump engine be measured accurately when the engine is running?
" The oiling system on the 9a1 is an integral dry sump with 4 scavenger pumps. Oil pressure is controlled by the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) on demand. The DME recognizes combustion and responds with the correct oil pressure. The returning oil coming out of the scavenge pumps will be foamy and needs to de-aerate, which is done directly out of oil of the pump in anti-foam swirl pots."

Taycan... after you've turned the car off, the stereo stays on but you can't change the volume. Also the SIM is region locked and not replaceable so there is no nav data where I live which makes the stupid speedlimit sign reader throw an error every time it doesn't know the speed limit.

I loved the heating on my 1987 3.2 Carrera, very efficient when working properly.
The lack of air con did make it warm on a hot day.

Regular 9A1s are no more dry sump than the M96/7. The M96/7 had the same 'integrated dry sump' marketing.
991.1 GTS - sometimes is noisy, bumpy and uncomfortable and I think can’t be bothered with this - sometimes is noisy, bumpy and uncomfortable and I love that. Think that might be me tbh. Seriously though road noise can be a pain, wheels are a pita to clean and the brakes squeal a bit at lower speed deceleration - not really a great deal then.
Cayenne diesel (previous one died at 140k miles - high pressure fuel pump went wasn’t worth repairing - although somebody else did ). Lots of annoying rattles even when we got it nearly new 25k miles on. Have the face lifted one now - both ate tyres with the 21 inch rims. Air suspension on the new one - everyone said you must have that - previous one didn’t and was much better to drive.
Taycan CT4S: first new Porsche and although love it: lots of annoying little rattles from word go. Drivers dash display - steering wheels obscures loads of the relevant stuff you want to see. I thought the cayenne ate tyres - again 21s and we’ve been through 4 in 13k miles ( 1 puncture 3 lost to eggs in sidewall )
Sometimes when you boot it there’s quite allot of lag before it decides ah yes my master wishes ti go fast - then sometimes it’s instantaneous. No idea on this
If you drive through puddles 6 inches deep or more you will likely get a noise from the motor fans as it will have sucked in loads of debris from the puddle - requires trip to the dealer to suck out all the crude etc.
Brakes mostly brill occasionally scarily vague - going into dealer to be checked
Quite big on smaller roads
Central storage area between front seats - really stupid design to open the lid
As much as these things are annoying to me - still the best 3 car combo we’ve had and tbh can’t think of anything better that could replace them but that’s another story and the list of what I like is infinitely longer

I never got around to fixing the AC on my 928 - would drive all years round with the windows down, and in the summer would just go with it - sat in traffic, 35C outside, big V8 over my legs, black leather interior, ah whatevs, was worth it.

The stupid positioning of the electronic handbrake switch and the fact that it moves in the wrong sense, ie, you push it on rather pulling it. Otherwise the car is brilliant.
I remember old mercs had a foot operated parking brake. You stood on it to engage it (ie, pushing away) and you pulled a hand lever to disengage it. I wonder if this is why the e brake on Porsche (and other German cars perhaps?) seems to operate illogically? A carry over from the past?
A lot of the US cars I hired until recent years had the foot parking brake.
A lot of you guys complaints are absolutely minor.
The thing that annoys me with mine is the air/oil separator on my 987.1 Boxster S.
I do the occasional track day with it and yes, it gets a good thrashing, (surely what it is designed for). Car performs impeccably on track. Return to pits and park up. Fire at the engine when everything has cooled down and huge plumes of whiteish smoke appear from the exhaust which completely disappears after a short while. Apparently this is oil collecting in the separator being sucked into the inlet and being burnt off.
You would think that Porsche, building a sports car/cars would sort out this annoyance, but no. To improve matters and get rid of this problem you have to buy a Motorsport one. Why not just fit it as standard so people can use their sports car for the occasional track day which surely the cars should be up to.
Fit a motorsport one i hear you say, well in their wisdom, Porsche have priced this plastic unit at about £1500, whereas the standard one is £70. Where is the logic in that!
It really is b

How many Porsche owners really do track days? I'd bet that in the rarefied environs of PH, it's fewer than 5%. Out of the general population, probably fewer than 1%. I like to drive my car reasonably sportily, and have been on advanced road driving courses and high speed handling courses. But I've never been on a track day and have no plans to do so. If I ever find myself near the Nürburgring, I might tempt fate and do a sedate lap or two. But an actual track day? No thanks. I wouldn't want to find myself on the same piece of tarmac as Kellerman.

I get your point, but it’s should still be designed to handle a track day without issue.
I track a Skoda Octávio vRS running the 1.8 turbo engine. It has a baffled sump and runs 245 bhp. It is thrashed at every track day within an inch of its life. It’s done 80 K miles and has done 20 Track Days in the last two years. Absolutely no issue whatsoever!
Hence, my problem with Porsche.
I’ve had a 718 Boxster S for around 9 months now - on the whole, it has surprised me how capable and useable it is, for every type of journey.
Main annoyance is the settings for things (temperature, radio station, A/C on/off etc) don’t stay where you left them - you have to save the settings to your key. Thought something was wrong to begin with when everything appeared to reset overnight!
…unless I’ve missed a page in the manual!
Oh, and the options list. Although mine has them, why parking sensors, cruise control, that kind of basic stuff isn’t included as standard seems… petty?
mrfunex said:

It doesn't seem petty. It IS petty. But Porsche justify it as weight savings because "sports car". I don't know whether these bits are all optional on the Macaroni/Cayenne Pepper/Pan-fried America.
I recently saw a video about how and why Tesla are removing parking sensors from their cars and doing everything with computer vision. Since the cameras have to be there for Autopilot to work, they have decided that they can dispense with parking sensors as it saves money on not only the sensors themselves, but the wiring looms necessary to connect them. It's very definitely dumbing down as there are situations where cameras can't see objects (glass walled shopping trolley stations in car parks?) but ultrasonic sensors would do just fine. It's only a matter of time before other marques follow suit.

Tyre roar is a fact of life. I have all-terrain tyres on my Range Rover and even as a standard size are noisier than an ordinary tyre. Sometimes you just have to put up with the negatives to get the benefits.
Strangely, I feel that Tyre noise generally is far more pronounced with the roof up on my Boxster then down.
My Turbo S is with the dealer for the 3rd time in 4 months with the same problem. Whenever the rear wing is deployed during spirited driving, it decided to retract itself and then throws up a ton of errors warnings including 'reduce speed'

What happens if you just leave it in the up position using the button control? Does it still get upset.
Annoying fault.
That reminds me of another annoyance. The spoiler on my Boxster (it's a wing really as it's an aerofoil) goes up at 75mph and then comes down again at some much lower speed - 35mph or something? So it tells everyone I've been speeding. The only alternative is to press the button to make it stay up permanently. But there's no way to tell from the driver's seat whether it's up or down. The light on the button only tells you whether you have it manually up or not. There's no light to show whether it's up automatically. And you can't see it in the rear-view mirror or the door mirrors. Actually there is a way, which is to push myself up out of the seat and crane my head round to try to look at it directly. A simple icon in the multi-function display could have showed the current spoiler position but no...
So if I've pressed on during a motorway journey I have to press that button if I pass a police car in the left lane so that on the off-chance that we have to slow to spoiler retraction speed, the spoiler stays up so it looks like it was only up because I'd pressed the button before setting off. In fact, I'm convinced that ridiculous exercise is the only reason the button exists in the first place!
I've often wondered if the spoiler is really necessary. Does it have a measurable aerodynamic effect at sensible speeds and below (sub 120mph) or is it just for show. If the latter, maybe I can pull a fuse so that it never deploys. Or will I then get error messages on the screen? Grrrr.
HVAC controls in our Macan S, in every other car I've owned I can select the air to be blown at the windscreen to keep it clear and at my feet. Not possible in the Macan or I'd guess any Porsche with the same heating controls.
You can select feet and "up" direction but that doesn't direct air at the windscreen, only the demist button does that.

Totally over thinking about what the police might do if they notice your spoiler up. Answer is of course nothing.
I too find it odd that you can’t see the spoiler in the rear view. It surprised me when I realised.
Every other car I’ve been in with active spoiler, you can see it.

I have to admit that I find not seeing the spoiler odd.
In my wife’s recently sold 2017 TTS you could just see the top in the rear view mirror.
I also don’t think the old bill have a encyclopaedic knowledge of the speeds that the spoilers on every car deploys. Even if they did - it has a manual override so they cannot prove it was automatically deployed.
Add to that.. the number of people who will deploy said wing for a 10 min start-stop trip to tescos where they are unlikely to see 40mph.

Early Boxsters had a sort of wall rise up, so definitely a spoiler. But the whole back end of a 981/982 is like a mini-ducktail, and they have an aerofoil which are definitely wing-shaped. But it seems too small and the angle of attack too shallow to actually create any downforce, which is why I wonder whether it's really necessary at all. Perhaps the reason it moved from a spoiler to a wing is that it became no longer necessary but they didn't want the newer models not to have active aero. So rather than having a spoiler which induces drag and noise, they switched to a seemingly neutral wing which has very little effect other changing the appearance of the car at speed. At least for the 981. The 982's wing has more surface area and a greater angle of attack, but it doesn't rise as high from the body as the 981 wing does.

Annoying that with the photo… I’ve had that happen. Drives you mad. I think if you screen shot the photo the rotation thing will be fixed.
The reflector strip on my 997 C4S, first one cracked after a cold winter, replacement was £1250, and that one got water ingress and now black mould inside. The set of rear lights was cheaper!
So I had a 718 Base Cayman first and now have a CGTS 4.0.
Porsche options cost. Why oh why do you have to pay for climate on any car over £50k? Even the most basic Japanese car comes with climate.
Expensive parts prices. Just think of what the price should be and then triple it and you'll be about right. I changed the badges on the rear of my Base Cayman and for the '718 Cayman' in matte black was £200!!!!!!! Wipers are £60!
I look longingly at this car as I don't drive it enough. I really must retire. Only 12 more years to go.
Servicing costs are expensive. I know I can take it to an Indie and I know I have an expensive sports car but come on... £200 an hour labour!
My OPC won't allow me to supply my own oil at a fraction of the cost.
Electronic dipstick is an abomination.
The electronic parking brake should automatically apply when you put it in park. My VW Tiguan use to do it.
Finally, and most sports car owners have probably experienced this, the throbber in his hot hatch that wants to race you off the lights or have a rev off. I had some balloon in an A45 AMG do this outside the airport a couple of weeks ago and he looked in his mid 30s! what a t0$$er.

This happens to me too in leafy Surrey and Berkshire. It's never the drivers of proper hot hatches like Focus RS. They know they can smoke me any day of the week. It's always chavved up STs and Audi A3s for some reason. Golf Drivers don't seem to be afflicted by this need to compete. Could be because my car is bright orange. Like a red rag to a bull...

Trim rattles. I'm not brave enough to remove trim and trying to fix. I fear snapping the clips and not being able to fit it back, or it going back loose.
