Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It's cleaner, in my opinion, to change the head unit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Trying to determine the best way to allow the following in order of priority
1. Play turn by turn directions from iPhone
2. Play music from iPhone
3. Hands free calls with iPhone
I have tried the FM modulation and quite frankly does not work well. Too much interference.
Willing to swap out radio but will that mess with other functions? Computer etc
I see a bunch of posts but looking for consensus on what is the best way. If new radio fine if something else that is fine too.
Btw I will likely bring to a shop to do so any recommendations would be great. I am quite concerned just letting anyone
Start hacking a radio in. I am in northern va.
You can buy an auxiliary cable to let you play music from your iPhone through your Becker OEM head unit. You'll need to control the music using the phone. It is also possible to add a hands-free kit, although the only thing that the Becker unit can do is to mute the music when a call comes in. You'll need separate controls to use the phone.
It's cleaner, in my opinion, to change the head unit. The hard part is finding one that looks good and doesn't look too much different than the stock unit.
I have the CDR-220 with the auxiliary cable that connects to a headphone jack. I am able to listen to Pandora on my phone and the phone will play turn by turn maps directions through the car's audio. I think it is a good solution that is simple and relatively seamless. I also have a 12v charging cable that I keep in the armrest and only use when my phone is dying or if I am driving long distances and listening to music. For me, the oem interface was simple enough and did the job. You can get these cables from Becker or on eBay and will take about an afternoon to install depending on how you route the headphone jack coming from behind the unit.
