Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also recommend the D3, especially if you have an iPod.

uses the MOST optical buss to send signals from the CDR-24 to the Bose amplifer.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Everyone.
I have become a
Porsche Cayman
owner since Nov 9 '07 and I'm loving every minute of it. I cant wait till spring when I will be able to drive my car non-stop. Anyways my
Cayman
is missing 2 things that I am considering adding Bi-Xenon Headlights and the PCM/Navigation. I am Considering purchasing a Pioner
AVIC-Z2
since it has so many things the the Porsche Factory Nav system doesnt have or I can find an original Porsche nav system out there and install it?? What do you guys think. Also any suggestions on obtaining the BI-Xenon Headlights? I dont want these cheap imitaions on Ebay I want something good.
nav system
hey there if you go with the pioneer i recommend the d3 unless you need the hard drive...(ie if you have an ipod you really don't need it), OR if you go with the PCM, especially if you prefer the factory look, let me know...i'm selling one from my 06 cayman that is in excellent condition! good luck.
for the xenon light. i install mine aftermarket and it only cost 200. its not worse than the factory and the color is also nicer. its sunlight white 6000k
Just a note on the stereo, if you have Bose it will be difficult. If you have sound package or sound package plue, you are good to go. I also recommend the D3, especially if you have an iPod. The iPod interface is MUCH faster.
HID Xenon Aftermarket Lighting?
I have a 2008 Cayman. After installing the kit, my headlights blink 3 times and then shut off. Is there a computer code to fix this?

I have an 05
Boxster
with the Bose option. One of the posts above says that getting an aftermarket head unit is difficult with the Bose. Why is this? And is there a work round?
The
Bose system
uses the MOST optical buss to send signals from the CDR-24 to the Bose amplifer. There are no standard head units that will interface with MOST amps directly. Amplifier and speaker replacement is usually required.
There is a PCM unit available for the
Bose System
, but you will still need a Denison or mObridge adapter to connect an iPod. Check the other posts concerning the retrofitting of PCM in a
Cayman
. Not cheap, but nice. To integrate Bluetooth as well, I reckon you will need the PCM head for Bose with the telephone option, a Denison or mObridge iPod adapter and a Denison or mObridge Bluetooth adapter.
One more note. Costco has a supply of Garmin Nuvi 360's for $180. The model is discontinued, but it's an excellent 3 1/2 in GPS. US Maps are fine and worldwide maps are available. It has Bluetooth capabilities for most phones as well.
Nice alternative particularly if you have multiple cars.
