Hi,
I have my Red Boxster (2011 987.2) for two years and always though it should have "more butt" and a really nice wing.
I have been looking for a Wing for a long time but don't really like any of the ones on the Market for the Boxster.
Recently I found a video on YouTube with a Wing that I do like, it's called "Porsche Boxster TechArt GT Sport" (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi9FGGgU6BQ
).
After some digging I found out that the car in the video was modified by a company in Belgium called 9OneOne. It looks like they have mounted the Wing of a 911 966 Turbo on the Boxster and I really like that look (911 Motorsport :: GT One :: Depuis de nombreuses années dans le monde de la P)
I just got myself a used 911 966 Turbo Wing that I want to add to my Boxster (a little higher than the one in the video though).
I don't yet know how I will get it mounted because I don't have any experience doing car body modifications so I'm sure this will be a fun and interesting project
The wing basically comes with the whole 911 engine cover, that I need to get rid off, and once that is done, I'm not yet sure how to even get it mounted to my Boxster.
I probably also need to replace the hydraulic wing lift mechanism of the 996 with an electric one from a Boxster so it would work on my car. Again I'm not sure yet how I will do that.
Any tips, input, and ideas are really welcome!
I do have a 3D model of my car and did create some renders without the wing, with the wing, and with the wing in the lifted position.
Let me know what you think about it.

Damn that looks good! Let me know if you get it mounted as I would love to do the same!
Re: Boxster 987 Wing - Progress Report
I found the wing I'm looking for on eBay, and I also got myself a Dremel Tool to start trimming it.
The Wing comes with the hydraulic pump but seems to miss the micro-switches for the wing position.
I want to get a sports exhaust and chip this year, so I will not spend money and have some shop try to build the wing the way I want it, but I have no experience doing any bodywork so I will have to go careful and figure out how I do it along the way. Fun
I've attached two pictures with the front and back of the wing, one picture with the car in the back where this wing is supposed to go.
In the third picture I have marked where I expect to cut the wing so it sits where it is supposed to. The piece I have is really the whole 911 Turbo engine lid, and I just need the wing off of that.
Re: Boxster 987 Wing - Progress Report
I already started some cutting this week.
The Porsche Wing removal tool on SunCoastParts in around $90, the generic one I found on Amazon in $9, a small win along the way
Once I cut the wing so it will sit flush with the rear trunk lid, the hydraulic cylinders will protrude into the trunk space. I will need to cut into the trunk lid to get openings for that.
But it looks like I also found a solution to the biggest worry I had: how to connect the wing... (it's really a ducktail with an extendable wing) ... the ducktail to the trunklid in a secure way. I should be able to screw the 3 large screws that are used to connect each of the hydraulic cylinders to the wing lid, directly through the trunk as well.
The whole project now looks much simpler than it did before I started, and I start to think it could really work
Cheers
Franz

<< FIXED THE ATTACHED IMAGES AND VIDEO >>
I removed a lot of materials from the rear side so I can get the angle down, but it's still sitting very steep, so I will need to remove more.

Here's a video, showing it (just the ducktail without the wing) sitting on the car:

Even if I get it down to where I want it on the rear of the ducktail it looks like there's going to be a gap at the front end of the ducktail. Any ideas on how to fill / bridge / close that would be helpful.
