Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

While the Ohlins DFV damping is very impressive, the uprated springs are too extreme for my tastes so I'll be replacing them with a much softer 60 N/mm front & 70 N/mm rear setup as per the recommended street setup

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm the proud new owner of
The little 2.9 that could
after purchasing it from
@rego
, and thought I'd continue its story here.
As per the previous ownership history in the thread linked above, the car had the following performance additions fitted at the time I bought it:
Ohlins Road & Track DFV coilovers
Drexler LSD
FVD tune
GT3 front & rear LCAs
GT3 brake master cylinder
Cayman S front sway bar
Tarret adjustable rear sway bar
Tarret rear drop links and toe control arms
The result? A very raw driving experience with oodles of grip, zero body roll and the sharpest, most direct steering of any car I've ever driven
🤩
...and the stiffest suspension of any car I've ever driven
😅
. Dan had it setup for track work with uprated coilover springs - 80 N/mm front & 100N/mm rear (compared to the normal Ohlins 70/80 springs). While the Ohlins DFV damping is very impressive, the uprated springs are too extreme for my tastes so I'll be replacing them with a much softer 60 N/mm front & 70 N/mm rear setup as per the recommended street setup

But first things first: I had to get the car home from Sydney to Melbourne. I could have had it transported, but where's the fun in that? The Australia day long weekend provided the perfect opportunity to fly up to Sydney and drive it home the long way over three days through some of NSW & Victoria's best driving roads. Unfortunately a couple of active bushfires thwarted my plans to do the Alpine Way (Thredbo > Khancoban) and the Great Alpine Road (Omeo > Hotham > Bright), but I still managed some excellent driving and was properly spent when I arrived home on day 3 after more than 18hrs and 1,250km in the car
🤪
Here's a few photos and a route summary from the trip - hopefully there are many more like it to come!
First update is a small one, I swapped out the old Rennline magnetic phone mount with their newer MagSafe-compatible induction charger pad, and hooked it up to a low-profile 12V charger with a right-angle USB-C cable to keep things neat & tidy
😌
I spent last weekend up at Falls Creek participating in the Tour category of the ATRC Great Alpine Rally. It was a lot of fun, and an amazing opportunity to see what the Boxster is capable of on a closed mountain road with a 130kph speed limit
