Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
I suspect Fabspeed to be similar, and Milltek to be a little quieter, 105 maybe...
Leading evidence: 'fabspeed' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'fabspeed' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Run car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I have only had to put ear plugs in twice while running a car on the dyno.
Test most people probably wouldn't tell them apart

Suggestion
just a slight tone difference between the two is all, in a blind listening test most people probably wouldn't tell them apart.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well we completed the work today and I have all of the dyno results and will be typing up a full article that will hit the newstands (this website) whenever the new software goes up (because I don't want to have to do it twice!) So please stay tuned for the article. (We also have another exhaust article going up about the same time as well so plenty of good reading!)
Here are some highlights because I know you want them, but PLEASE wait for the full articles for all of the details!
HP and Torque gains for the Milltek Headers combined with the AWE catback exhaust were nearly identical (within 1 HP) of the Milltek header/catback combo. This, of course, on different dynos at different times, but I would say the results are nearly identical and I doubt anyone could 'feel' any power differences between the two. Now the 'sound' between the two, that's a different story...
The article has been posted!!!

Ok here is another sound teaser:

Those are the stock dyno run and the AWE with stock manifolds dyno run. I think you'll hear a sound difference with the AWE catback installed.
BTW I had a chance to compare the AWE to Fabspeed today side by side and both sound VERY similar in terms of sound volume, presence, etc. just a slight tone difference between the two is all, in a blind listening test most people probably wouldn't tell them apart.
Here is another tidbit - At the Buffalo Run run yesterday they measured my AWE exhaust at 109 decibels at about 2 feet behind the car at WOT. That didn't win any prizes, but was respectible. So the next time someone asks how loud is the AWE exhaust I can say 109 decibels! I suspect Fabspeed to be similar, and Milltek to be a little quieter, 105 maybe...
Those in attendance at the Croctoberfest social got to hear my exhaust tonight and Beez (who has very discriminating tastes) gave it a thumbs up. It is louder than the Milltek, but not nearly as loud as the 9ff exhaust we heard tonight and will capture video of tomorrow.
Speaking of which, I have been waiting on edge
to see the dyno numbers published in the article's section but alas I feel like a bride left at the altar. Not complaining, just curious.
Well then let me wet your appetite more to tell you that today we dyno'd my car back at Imagine Auto with the Milltek headers + AWE catback combo and the dyno numbers were great, best of any car on the dyno today!
I have only had to put ear plugs in twice while running a car on the dyno. Once was with a naturally aspirated 911 race car with straight pipes, and the other was with the cayman and the 9ff exhaust. That thing was rediculous.
I guess the 9ff exhaust is off my Christmas List then!
Man I am so bummed about missing Croctoberfest especially missing the Miltek vs AWE comparo since either of these will most likely be my Christmas present!
9ff exhaust
Well then stay tuned for the article which I promise is coming this week!
As Doc said above the 9ff is too loud. Even the owner of the car (ArticSilver) said it was too loud in every day driving. I looked under the car and saw that the headers have no cats on them and that these fat pipes go back to some sort of resonator just before going into a single muffler and then out either end of the muffler and exiting in the twin tail pipes on either side of the car. I didn't see much stopping the sound and I snapped the following picture.
No, none of the exhausts seem to do anything to your gas mileage unless you stick your foot into the gas pedal more to hear the exhaust more often. I consistently get 25-26mpg with the exhaust systems I've tried.
Ken, I think most of the HP gain you will get with the desnork/EVO and headers, not necesarily with the exhaust, I am correct? I have the 100cel cats with the Milltek plus the TUBI as some of you know, and I suspect that with the first is where most of the gain is...The desnork seems like a must too..no CEL so far btw...
No the catback exhaust is good for 10-12hp, while the headers are around 8hp. GIAC and EVO was worth 7-9 HP. To get the best effect you have to add them up. The Tubi has not been dyno'd local to me so I can't speak for any gains or losses if any.
Ordered...
I’ll be getting a little boost of HP next week… I ordered my Fabspeed headers & AWE Cat-Back exhaust system early this AM. I can hardly wait.
PS: Don’t tell the wife

I'm a little confused by this. More hp should require more gas I thought. If emissions stay the same and mileage stays the same but hp is up how do they do that?
