Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On my drive home the car felt faily quick, i than found that one of the actuator rods on the turbo had snapped, so only running on 1 turbo.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi....My brake pedal feels very solid, and you have to push hard to stop quickly.
the discs don't look worn and pads have plenty of life in them.
Is this normal or should they work better.
Thanks
Tim
996 brakes are servo assisted (hence allowing ABS/PSM), they are just very stiff. (they are four or six pots remember)
They may feel a bit "wooden", but that is probably being cruel. Modern cars, since AUDI went mad with over-assistance a decade or so ago, and require almost ballerina delicacy not to go through the windscreen.
We have got used to these. The "stiff" pedal will ironically give you more feel, better linearity and most importantly a decent platform to perfom heal-and-toe!
Not sure how long you have had the car but that sounds completely normal to me.
The brakes on a 996 have a lot less servo assistance than many modern cars so can feel very stiff and innefective if you've been driving another car for a while or are used to VAG / BMW brakes, for example (they are massively over-servoed), but press HARD and believe me they are perfectly adequate brakes! :thumb:
Not sure which 996 variant you have, but if it's a turbo (guessing by your username) then believe me you have some awesome brakes; gun it down a motorway slip road then STAND on them HARD and you'll soon start to get more confidence in them...
when i first drove my turbo i said to the wife these brakes dont feel any good.have to press a bit harder than the bmw .give your self a bit time to get used to them they are really good.what do think of your car after a week ?had mine 3 months now still cant smile wide enough
Although i have only had it just under a week, i am doing a few jobs that need doing before it hits the road....
But i can't wait until it's ready.

They must be mind blowing fast with a re-map.
