POST 22Original post

I wish you hadn't have asked this. What I would do... Keep it G series in appearance, remove the rear over riders and the bottom half off the rear spoiler which would leave room to fit centre exit poo shooters. Carrera front end 16x9 Fuchs black centres with polished hoops, 235 rubber in the rear. No spoiler and keep the oil lines exposed Wrong bumpers on the below green example, OEM corners and 'delete' the duck tail (or perhaps keep) but a lot like this: Colour should be something fantastic from the 70's. I'd be happy with the tangerine you but would also consider signal green or the light yellow. Keep the interior stripped, minimal carpet except for the foot wells, cushion pads installed in the rear, RS door cards, etc. Cobra Classic RS seat

POST 24Original post

Well I'm partial to steelies with a deep dish, preferably the 944 spares that have the round holes. Like the last set of seats there, as being an earlier car, I think big race seats look a bit over the top and unsuited, yet I would fit the Recaro's My favourite Porsche colour is Silver Mink, with Kermit green second, so if I was to build a custom 911, it would be either of those colours. Orange is cool though. All in all, I would build the green car above without the duck tail, yet painted silver with a period race car feel to it. An ST basically Keep me in mind if you want to unload some 15 x 6 steelies too. Or if you have x 2 15 x 5.5's. I need 2 more

POST 40Original post

My vote is to leave orange but a pearl coat before the clear

POST 41Original post

Quotes source post: 126602

From my experience it is very hard to make a pearl over orange look good. It usually makes the orange look like more of a brown (and as a 3 layer pearl it is very hard to to get it looking even all over and not mottled). For my money I would leave it orange. Considering you have already started. I have the same dilema, I was pretty much sold on painting my car orange but that Chartruese has me thinking.... Edited 12August, 2015 by MFX

Do like a lot of the 356 bomber interiors, though IMO a direct copy wouldn't translate well ... So silver 'narrow body IROC exterior with? POST 84 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the only thing Jeffs and my project have in common is a colour.  Enjoying watching the progress, far more than my incursion. Being looking at the front of my car and trying to resolve the Mike Tankard fitment issue . Rear bumper all nice and snug,  fitted 95%, however the line of the flare from the rear needs adjusting as it moves from the body through the rear number. Another strut /stiffening. Front is a bit more problematic as was intending to fit it without the 'smile' however mike trimmed a lot of the glass at the top of the bumper meaning a 40mm gab between bumper and and body. Got two solutions and neither are that quick. Will post pics of the bumper as interested to see thoughts on the position, if I push the front in by 40mm - certainly not as 'clutch cargo, Also width of bumper due to not having big front flares, has meant going to have to section  the bumper and re-glass it. Interior or sound deadened and seam sealed and silver again custom narrow body IROC front rear bumpers also having myriad of small adjustments made to ensure the fitment is as good as can be made ... Not simple and there'll be more than 75 hours alone in the fitting adjustment cut shut of these. Also I'm recessing the front bumper to delete the smile. More hours. Edited 8September, 2016 by michel

POST 94 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Haha... Wait till I start hand stitching leather over the cage .. as modifying the front to do a smile delete also reinforced the top edge of the bumper with ally so the glass is supported and sits flat One thing I recently learnt about a full cage is it becomes feasible if integrated within the interior upholstery.....
