Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also, on a short shift box, it must make the gear changes faster ?
Leading evidence: 'Replace faster' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace faster' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

This makes no change to gear ratios and doesn't affect the engine (output).
Hi guys,
I was just curious, has anyone actually donea remap on a 3.4 yet and if so, what is the outcome. Is the extra 24 BHP noticeably more ?
and has anyone had there car on a dyno at some point, what is the actual RWD output ?
Also Would a quick shift gearbox make a difference to power or bhp ?
cheers
Yes (noticeable - mid range mostly) - but I don't have before and after dynos.
Short shift - just makes the gear lever throw shorter (you don't have to push or pull it so far to engage gears). This makes no change to gear ratios and doesn't affect the engine (output).
Power
is
BHP (or more correctly BHP is a measure of power - Brake Horse Power)
cheers mate.
Im thinking about getting it done. Im still wondering if i should get a KN filter too. I'm trying to look for the best mod i can get to my car for max performance.
Also, on a short shift box, it must make the gear changes faster ?
A 3.4 short shifter vs a 3.4 with a standard box would be faster no?
Hi, After modifying my previous C2 (CAI (K&N), Map and exhaust), I would debate a return of 24bhp, what you will find is the car becomes a lot more responsive in the mid range.
The Induction kit will give you a nice sound once you get over 4000rpm and maybe? a couple of extra horses.
I've stated this before, unless your willing to spend on the x51 there is very little to be had (perhaps a negligible 5% BHP increase) on a standard 3.4 or 3.6 N/A car.
Money is better invested on the handling - suspension/geo etc.
The short shift is a must, but I class that as a handling mod rather than a pure performance one.
Thanks guys. Yeah, i have some sort of unreal loud exaust on it at the moment. It's not a PSE i don't think.. I could be wrong, but it's not a factory option. It's very loud in every gear and at idle. It's had a full Aluminium exaust sport right through so i was told.
It has GT3 fully adjustable suspension on it the guy said. I was just looking at getting a remap really. However, i thought id get some advice on a few mods. Thanks for the info guys.
