Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Not sure whether I should place this under Porsche Care or this forum. As the question is specific for Boxster I believe it should be here.] The headlights of my 2005 Boxster (Xeon) looks dirty from inside. It appears as a light swirl of mist, sitting on in the inside of the headlights . Is there a way to remove the headlights and clean these? Ed

POST 2Original post

Do you think it is moisture condensation? I'm not sure how dust or dirt could get inside there to begin with. Looking at the pictures in the Article by porsches4ed on changing the bulbs in the headlamps: Exterior Light Makeover - Part 2 , it doesn't appear that you can easily gain access to the inside of the front lens cover from the rear. I have removed by headlamps a couple of times, but can't recall if there is any way to open them to gain access to the inside of the front covers.

POST 3Original post

Dust can accumulate inside the light assembly since it is not airtight. The assembly is not designed for lens removal. However, I'm sure it can be removed, but will require surgery. Did that on my previous Porsche. Haven't and likely won't try it on this one.

POST 4Original post

What other type of condensation are you expecting? Methane?

POST 5Original post

No its not moisture condensation but it might have to do with the high temperature of the Xenon, see picture Ed
